No problem.

Basically, if you see someone standing still melee-ing the air, kill him.

And if you see a Hog (ESPECIALLY one with no passenger) coming to the back of your base on Coag, blow it up/don't let it park near the grav lift.

Well, hopefully if any enemy is coming in a hog, regardless of passengerness, your first reaction should be to kill him (or strategize a way to kill him).
If you see a Hog driving to your base on any map, and it doesn't have a driver, umm... get some sober in ye Razz

It's Official -- See the Bungie Update

I just read the Bungie Weekly What's Update, and today they dropped the Ban Hammer on repeat cheaters. Gory details here. This includes the relevant sections of the Terms of Service.

Note that Frankie expressly states that "flag-bouncing and glitch grabbing" are not considered cheating in terms of the ToS, and that Bungie and Xbox Live must have concrete evidence of persistant cheating before the Ban Hammer falls.

And it fell, not dozens of times, not Hundreds of times, but THOUSANDS of times. A sorry comment on the state of network play, but I guess it's better than letting it continue.

-- Steve's looking forward to a more pleasant matchmaking experience. (And he's now scooting over to see how much the Leaderboards have changed. Schadenfreude rules!)

By "Glitch-Grabbing" Frankie refers to "object-through-geometry".

There are reports of bans for repeated use of Dummying.

Fanboy:
We have trusted you this far, you have not led us astray. Forgive us. We were wrong to despair.

Bungie:

[Translation: "There is nothing to forgive, Fanboy."]

BOW DOWN TO THE BANHAMMER!

They must all hate each other on that forum. Meanwhile, the people on this forum give me warm+fuzzies on a daily basis.

Yes, at time bungie.net's forums is like a big mutual hatred.

With pockets of good sports, which most of the time makes up for it.

Does it help if I put a bow on it? Or perhaps jingly bells, so that you make music as you die so prettily?

Somebody's cheating carrier is about to come to an abrupt end... he cheated in a game Bungie employee bentllama was playing.

Heh heh. Heh-heh-heh-heh. HaHAHAHAHAHA!

Viva la Banhammer!

-- Steve still wonders why people feel the need to cheat.

Because they don't have enough skill to win any other way...
Not to mention have no honor, conscience, or morals...
Oh, and because they suck too.

Bungie Cheating FAQ: It's sad that they have to come up with an FAQ to define the parameters for cheating.

Now that takes a special kind of stupid. It's too bad they can't ban that kid and poeple like him from all further online activities for life. You know, to protect the future of the human race and all Twisted Evil .

-- Dasro hates standy and dummying, and wonders when people will realize that the ranks themselves DON'T F'ING MATTER, that it's really just supposed to be a reflection of your skill at playing this particular game, so that you can supposedly be assured a more balanced game every outing in matchmaking...sigh.
