I couldn't be sure if anyone was checking for new messages any more actively than, say, waiting for an email about a thread they're watching, Dude.

In competition, probably not. I don't think the playlist are setup for team overshields right now. As for the basics of the trick, Incitatus can probably better explain that one.
Still, how freaked out would you be if you were defending the flag and all of the sudden a warthog came barreling down the middle of the building?!
I've seen it done in matchmacking before, and I even edited out a clip were it was being one during one of those games.
To get a hog on the top floor of the defending building, one must barrel the hog on a straight dash towards the bridge overlooking the bus. Hitting the light incline, if you are going fast enough, the hog will catch enough air to clear or land ontop of the barracade infront of that doorway on the other end of the bridge. Manuever the hog up those stairs and around to the sword-passageway, and drive her straight across. Again I've seen it done a few times before in matchmacking. Sucks to be at the wrong end of such an attack.
As far as the specifics of the hog launch, You need to have Overshields, a wraith tank, and a hog.
The hog will survive as long as you want it to, just so long as when it is hit, launched, or fired upon there is a living driver/passenger/gunner in it.
We've found a few spots to launch the hog on that map, though the one spot under the turret overlook seems to be the best.
I captured the process from every possible vantage point and perspective. It really is as simple as it looks. getting a precision launch though would be more difficult, since it IS a physics engine glitch, it can be very speratic and difficult to control. What control you have is all depenant on angle and distance between. The viable angle is anywhere within a 10*-15* range, and the best distance is the very maximum before the boost fails to deliver the warthog. Remember, you are looking for the same backing and incline as the spot on headlong, so before you go out trying this on other spots/maps, examine the conditions of the spot on headlong first. I have found that one of the rocks centermap on coag. has similar conditions, as does 1 spot on waterworks. Thoguh this is the easiest to setup.
Bottom Line: This trick is not viable for use in a matchmade game due to the slight problem of the specific requirments for the exploit not EVER being seeen randomly picked up in a matchmade game. Otherwise, a gang-bang on either the hog or the tank, rendering one destroyed would ruin the trick. Would be cool to use if conditions permit, to invade a heavily defended barracks, but again, aiming is extremly difficult, and the conditions to permit the exploit must exist.

And then, you have the moral issue of whether it is or isn't cheating...

Have you tried the mute button? I haven't checked in detail but they're both wmv files so the audio should be pretty standard. Watched both videos without a problem. Try updating your windows media player if you're having issues

We attempted to knock the platform off. After shooting rockets from every possible angle (16 players) all coordinated, we found we can only seriously and violently shack and push the platform. Then someone suggested putting a covy crate on the platform... sure enough this weighed it down substantially. we got 2 crates on and they shook off, but the crates could only pin the platform down so it was on 2 lifts, and partially on 1. A slight rocket adjustment knocked it off that 1.
Then... Simmons rallied the troops and... well... the rest is in the vid.
I believe that the footage speaks for itself as far as knocking the platform completly off. The platform is off all 3 lifts at one point, and pinned against the wall, there appears to be a seperate behavioural script holding it up, that is independant of the lifts.

Dude! It never occured to me that those lifts were holding that platform up. I always thought it was held up by some 'invisible covenant tractor beam'. I've seen it shake before, but not like that! Way cool, Incit.

Haha, "slight rocket adjustment" meaning 15 of us emptying our SPNKrs at once at it. I like it.

It was kinda fun to knock that platform out! But it was sooo frustrating to place those crates on top of the platform ... After a while I just had to leave!
