To back up this statement, the postcard would have to contain some kind of easy code
well if you could please crack the number for us i'm sure we'd all be very happy

No that would be the semacode, or the simple act of reversing the web address, or the semacode.
Either of these are relatively simple to the curious.
The nasty little badger is the next step.
Believe me I'd love to have the answer. I've pulled this number apart in every way I can think of that doesn't stretch credibility (at least any further than any other theory on this forum)
When I have finished with it I will my results for anyone else to go over and see if they can spy anything.
Are all arg's this infuriating, and addictive?
edit: sorry just read your quote properly.
I have inadvertantly answered the question though

I think this thread is redundant as the game has already started.
We were told that the game would start in the 4th quarter of 2004 and low and behold the postcard appears.
Actually, technically, we were originally told it would start in Q4 2004, but this was changed before we reached Q4 2004 to early 2005.
As far as the postcards go, a nice marketing exercise

If the game were in session, and we weren't e-mailed about it, what were we actually giving them our addresses for? I mean, sure, there are a million possible answers, but I still think that telling us when the game starts makes more sense.
More to the point, if we were stuck on a clue (such as the ...484848... number) for this long, they would give us some prodding in the right direction. They've done that before. So far, they haven't even done so much as tell us that it is a clue. This leads me to believe that if it's a clue, it's one we're not meant to understand yet.
I'm going to take the wishful thinking approach, and agree with the 22/1/5 (next Saturday) theory.

In reply to KSG.
As puppet masters are they obliged to prod us in the right direction?
Also I have doubts as to the validity of the email form which I raised in another topic thread. The crux of which is I think there may be a code to enter in this field that takes us elsewhere.
I can agree with your view though. I have no evidence yet to back this spec up, just a 'something doesn't seem right feeling' which doesn't account for much.
Hey if nothing else I'm keeping busy until it does start.

They're not obliged to prod us, it's just that they did in the pre-game. I figure if we are missing a clue, we've been missing it for about a month (?), so they're probably getting impatient with us.
I didn't see your post about the e-mail form, but that's an interesting theory.
Can't blame you for wanting to kill time, either. I hate waiting.

Trouble is, with killing time, I don't consider myself particualrly gifted in the arts of encryption but I could think of so many ways that the number could be encrypted.
I have broken it down into pairs etc pairs using alternate numbers.
Could certain numbers be page numbes from alice in wonderland perhaps(given the lewis carrol link)
is it possible that the sums of the revealed pairs give us some clue
see its got me so mad ive come over all ee cumming
Actually one thing I did notice in it all that I haven't seen posted is that the 2210 could be seperated into 22 and 10.
Then seperating the long number at the instances of these numbers you get 2 new numbers
221545484848465 and 100503215. How do these relate to one another.
Aaaaaarghhhhhhh

I'm going to agree on it being this saturday - because I have an interview for a science thing - and that would be the most annoying day for me!

Munchkin-There we have it! Murphey's Law clearly states that the game will begin in one week!
mr_good_tips-Gah! Like that code wasn't unsolvable enough, now we get to solve it and the relevance to 2210!

I'm sorry, I have too much time and too little knowledge. Truly I am a dangerous force. Did I mention that if you break it down into pairs, 46 is the only one you can't score with a single dart?

I think you did, but I had no idea what you were talking about, so I ignored it. :̃

Sorry I see you are american, do they have darts over there?
Its a british pub game. Three darts are thrown at a board that is divided into numbers from one to twenty. Each numbered section then has a double and treble zone. ie 20 40 60 if you see what I mean. Also there is a 25 and 50 point bullseye in the middle.
So any number from 1 to 20, it's double, it's treble, or 25 and 50 can be scored with a single dart.
46 cannot.
There you go. An evening in a british pub.

Mr. Good Trips, not only does America indeed have darts, we have also made games for them. The one I p[rogrammed was for the nintendo system. Look for it in the classics

Yep, it's not as popular here as it is in G.B., but most bars here have a dartboard or two.
Back in the day, I used to like to hit the bars and play a few rounds of cricket with my friends.
There is simply nothing more fun than consuming mass quantities of alcoholic beverages while, at the same time, throwing sharp, pointy projectiles across a crowded bar room.
