I don't think there is a thread just about this, and since I have seen mentions of the number in various other threads, I thought it would be better if we put all the speculations/discussions in this one...

To start things off here's my speculation...

It is suspicious that there are three 48s in sequence in the number...
I was thinking, what if the number represents a website (hopefully not perplexcity.com), but instead of putting the real decimal value of the letters, a rotated alphabet is used with 48 being 'w' or 'W'...I'm gonna try this out in a sec to see what I come up with...

edit---
the highest number in the sequence is 51 and we have 00...
there are 26 letters in the english alphabet...if we use only letters (no punctuation), and have both uppercase and lowercase...then 48 is w/W depending on wether you put capitals first or lowercase...

doing that however, I get just gibberish...
"wptwwwuzaygp"
which if we wanted to make into something useful would be
"www(.)uzaygpwpt(.com?)...
