ho hum... i just cleared my browser cache of that page (with the web developer-extension for firefox) and after reload, there was no expiration date in page information - could this expiration date have something to do with caches? does somebody more technical know about this?
im not sure if it has anything to do with caches...pages like google don't have any...
however, to make sure...
how about we post what the expiration date for the page is that is displayed for us to see if it is the same time/date...
mine says for http://www.perplexcity.com
it is due to expire on "29 January 2005 22:45:06"

Say, is it just me, or have we lost access to the source code on the perplexcity series of pages? View Source is no longer an option for me on those pages.

I went back and looked at the source. The caps seemed to me to be indicating a clue. But then I'm not used to looking at it. I took use map and turned 513 588 into a grid reference using square TL. It takes me to Teversham just next to Cambridge airport.
Anybody have any thoughts?

Web pages don't specify an expiration time by default, so the web browser will cache the page for however long it wants to. How long depends on the browser. Pages usually expire from the cache eventually.
If we were all seeing the exact same time it would be a good sign, but since we all have slightly different times I suspect FireFox/Mozilla is just picking a time say 10 days away.
For the record, mine said January 22nd...
Oh, and just because a page is cached doesn't mean you won't pick up changes to the site quickly. Browsers check periodically to see if the page is newer than their cached version by checking the "Modified" timestamp. Usually at least once per session.

Doesn't work if you right-click on the image - right-click on the black background at the side and you should see view source on the menu.
The numbers on the page are to specifiy the size of the image and the shape of the link where the Academy crest is at the top of the page.
In theory they could also be clues, but it'd take some doing to make the picture actually fit the numbers that they were using. Still, fimaco's find about Teversham (similar to Taverner) and the fact that it's near Cambridge (Adrian's Alma Mater IIRC, and also a location where one of the postcards was found) do make me wonder. Keeping an open mind at this point....

The psyzygynomore2.jpg image is different today from the image I saved on Jan 10. There is strange artifacts in the earlier image and now they are all gone. I am no computer wizard so maybe it is normal, I don't know.
I can do a screen shot and email it to someone to look at the differences.

Either the image used to be stegged, and the PMs gave up on us noticing, or (more likely) they over-compressed the file, realised it was crap, and fixed it. If you have the old one saved, I suggest you check to see if it's stegged.
