I thought it was a part of 'the difficulty' as its the only game ive gotten emails from/for in ages. lol. i know the word 'nimgae' can be split to make 'in game', which seems ARGish and kind of a TINAG nod

**EDIT** the subject of the email is 355/113

well, i took that and divided it like an equation. i came up with the first 7 places of pi (3.1415929) the rest doesnt follow pi, but I was thinking that it might be some kind of clue as to how to solve the text?

It came in email as a single line, scrolling off the screen.

And there's an unusual amount of duplicated letters in it.

Got the same mail (from nimgaeSPLATgmail.com).
Trying to encode it.

UPDATE1. it isn't ROT.
UPSATE2. OK, let's narrow our search field.

If it's a part of an running ARG:
I'm a little bit involved as player in Kana Itsume and helpfindmybro, which should be Rogue Virus (I haven't check up that thread, but if this message is from that ARG, I just HAVE to do it) Smile

Plus all the letters of the alphabet are present (more than once), but the letter 'O' does not appear at all.

Hey Toasty! Nice XMas userpic you have Smile
If it's Rogue Virus, could it be a fialka code?

I got it, too. Rogue Virus and IHC are the only games I've been getting stuff for, lately.

"nimgea" being a jumble of "enigma", I tried several online enigma simulators without success.

Funny how so many of the online simulators give totally different answers for what seem to be the same 3-rotor machine implementations.

This is the most accepted Enigma device emulator:
http://enigmaco.de/enigma/enigma.html

But without the key or rotor set, it's a moot point.

If I could figure out how to set the 2nd rotor type to "1" on that one it might work.

You can't; rotors are unique. Each numbered rotor can be used once and only once.

Although I somehow think that Pi does have something to do with it.

*EDIT* Well I'll be damned... Think I got something. Give me a minute.

Later in the war, they started switching disks amongst machines to increase the total permutations possible.

HA!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Enigma machine. Rotor set 314, key is PIE.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Results give you letters "O" and "I" exclusively.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Converting those to zeroes and ones, then converting the binary, you get:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
SIRIUS A 61 CYGNI B PROCYON A ALBIREO B

OK... now what?

yeah i just sent them an email, with the solve asking them what it means.

thats the first time ive seen one of those enigma things used in an ARG, that was a really cool solve, I only wished i had thought of it Razz

**EDIT*** they sent out another email this time the code is "CKVKSLLGJYDSSTTSLZHMJAPYACJSUGBABYFQCHPXXTDUEGNETHBHM
MDWEXUGRCUWMMZCLZVDWMTPIMPWURBHRPDEYSUDLEFSJFPZAASEQF
ZDWSBCGXZZLEFBETDLZLEORSSSERLDWEJDFQRMGTMHGQNPLFSHJEDDI
SEJXSWCKRFDIUYCISNWRDLURZZEVKPGSEJGZZHBYUBJBJYPPVLYQAULWFBHEYLJCWCPDIPU"

I must have messed something up because when i decoded and converted to text fromt he binary i got "5 17 821 2003663613·2195000+1"

Beyond the fact that they're all binary systems, I haven't any idea.

EDIT: And the newer one is a list of some prime numbers.

"Twin Primes"? (Nighthawk already figgered that out.)
