On Reddit, someone found this - it was in the WTF section -

If you call the number, the man repeats this -

"800127114240696" .. phone tones, dialtone "900557114240696" .. phone tones then dialtone "500337114240696" same

What do you guys think? Potential?

I've called the number a few times now. There's always a pattern: Sometimes it starts with a 4-digit number, then it gives a three digit number. These both are one integer followed by zeros. It then gives a two digit number, followed by the sequence 7-1-1-4-2-4-0-6-9-6. If this is a game, I certainly can't figure it out, but it definitely isn't random numbers.

Maybe it is because I am bored at work, or bored in general, but I am very intrigued. It is highly likely that there is some boring explanation for it but I am still very curious.

I did a simple google search:

It probably has nothing to do with anything, just breaking down the actual phone number itself, but maybe plugging in the recorded numbers in a similar fashion may be useful.

If we only knew what it was for.

I entered "7114240696", which is the number the guy keeps repeating in the call and I got this from mighty number:

7114240696 interpreted as a phone number spells the follwing words:
711-HAH-0-OWN 711-HAG-0-OWN 711-GAG-0-OWN 7114-AH-0-OWN 711-HAH-0-OX-6 711-HAH-0-NW-6
711-HAH-0-MY-6 711-HAG-0-OX-6 711-HAG-0-NW-6 711-HAG-0-MY-6 711-HA-40-OWN 711-GAG-0-OX-6
711-GAG-0-NW-6 711-GAG-0-MY-6

It looks like "HAH OWN GAG" or "HAG O MY HAG". Weird....

I typed in the other digits that came before "7114240696" and two of them were postal service zipcodes.

hey i have seen this ARG on 4chan /x/ few days ago and now on reddit, itis getting very popular looks like it mixes bunch of popular scarry motives into one story

I'm mostly certain this is a spam-bot on Twitter, but earlier today, this twitter account messaged the Marble Operator twitter account. All of the tweets (save one, which was a reply to someone else's tweet) are in a programming code-like syntax.

The message to me read "@MarbleOperator Syntax.nav::proc_VWL.3// ....... 7 occ". There were similar tweets to a number of other people. Since then, these tweets have been deleted.

What went up in their place were screenshots of various random bits of text. I've not yet attempted to identify the source of these tweets.

So yeah, a random tweet from a twitter account that was, apparently, created today. Probably just some bizarre spam-bot, but there might be something more to it, given these seemingly random quotes it is tweeting.
