[SPEC] A harmless joke, or a useful clue?

On the Hornchurch star 'Classifieds' is this article wanted:

"Good money paid for quality soul - Stax, Volt and Atlantic preferred.
Local Call 988488716."

Ok, so Stax/Volt and Atlantic is one of the most influential "Southern (i.e. Memphis) Soul" artists of the 60's (hence the joke), but has anyone looked further into the number "988488716", or who could be at the other end of such a number? I did a search on this forum and, unless I'm using the search incorrectly, I found nobody has looked into this. If, as Brigid is able to sell items on EBay, etc. to us, then why wouldn't we be able to sell something back to the game? It may be farfetched, I realize, but what if someone posted a Stax/Volt and Atlantic CD on EBay, and you had a mysterious bidder? On the other hand, how do you call a number such as "988488716", to reach a potential buyer? I just feel that if it's in-game, it's likely useful - either as a harmless joke, or a useful clue.

Edit: Topic - Wishi-san

I jsut checked, it doesn't seem like the number spells anything (such as 1-800-54-giant or one of those numbers)

A "real" phone number?

Yeah, I tried that too. I just find it odd that the number isn't of the "666 _ _ _ _" style of the other number on that page (Yes, it is of Sable, but all the same) or even a 7-digit number, as you would assume with the prefix "Local Call". I don't know how the long distance numbers work in Europe, but within North America it's 1-(3-digit area code)-(3-digit region code)-(4-digit phone line code). Thus, I think 988488716 is a clue (itself is not a Fibonacci number, it translates to IHHDHHGAF directly with A=1, B=2, etc., adds to 59, it's not prime, and in fact comes up nowhere except the Hornchurch Star under google - this, I would attribute to being in code or a personal unlisted number?).

In Germany you would have +(land)(region-code without leading 0)(phonenumber)..for example Cologne:
+49 221 (phonenumber)
and corresponding national number being 0221 (phonenumber).

Phone Number, Coordinates...?

Ok, so it could be a phone number, or just a tip for a location. Where would there be a region-code of 0098 (did I read that right?). How about coordinates; to the coordinate specialists: does this number (or it's constituents) seem familiar?

And if it was an international call, like "00 98 848-8716", it would be a phonnumber in.... Iran Smile Great place to hide ????

I tried turning it to a hex code (like the the S+S logins), but Cerebrus didn't accept it.

Hex code possibly useful

988488716 in hex is 3aeb240c, the exact format of the S&S Login (8 digits long). I tried this, as well as it's reverse and even 617884889's hex conversion (24d42cd9) with no luck logging in. I don't believe Iran has a great deal to do with this puzzle, but still the number 988488716 plagues me. If anyone has a reason why this number should be dismissed as useless, please speak up. On the other hand, if anyone finds this information useful then please add your two cents.
