Everything so far....

The story so far:
Jon Harker has gone missing. His sister Bridget is offering £10,946 reward money on her site http://www.helpmefindjon.com.
Jon has his own site at http://www.hewalksamongus.com.
Jon also created http://www.thehidingroom.com to store 'information'.

Jon fears the 'Man in Black', and senses conspiracy. To prove his ideas he read the Book of Stars which was sent to him. However, it was no ordinary process... he had to sign over his soul to http://www.sableshuck.com and then travel with http://www.pathwaytravel.com to get to a hotel (Hilbert's Hotel in Babel). Once there some 'difficult 3 weeks' were had. Upon his safe return http://www.infernocargo.com sent him the Book of Stars.

He is now apparently working on translating the Book of Stars.
The game continues, as players try to find out the password to the Hidden Room.

Here's all the codes and passwords so far:

Sable and Shuck:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Login: 14bbb942
Password: fidelio

we do not know the password to open the contract.

Safe:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Click three books in order. (top, middle and right)
Code: 5045
Login: jonharker
E-mail: jonharkerSPLAThewalksamongus.com
Password: ibidem - opens cache to october, in which Jon plans his trip and sells his soul. (Interestingly, ibidem means 'in the same place')
Password: confer - opens cache to december, in which Jon has returned from wherever he went.

Infernocargo
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Login: Jon Harker
ID: SSLU13LSHJ

Nothing much happens here.

Jon's receipt no.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1587622319. We don't yet know what to do with this.

the Phone on Jon's desk:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
you can listen to a voice message from Jon, by clicking on his phone. The PIN is 122128

We now have to search for where "the Aleph meets the Star".

the mezzanine door
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
if you type in the phone number 07941520789 (deduced by listening to the sounds jon's phone makes when it dials his voicemail) into the mezzanine door, you are then able to view the back of the family photo on his desk.

the family photo
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
on the back of the family photo there is a new mobile telephone number (07861328892) and a list if childhood memories. Calling the number leaves you with a strange answer phone message saying 'If Jon sent you, you're too late'.

Jon's location
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you go to www.helpmefindjon.com and type in Peel castle Isle of Man, you get an e-mail from Brigid, saying that 'it makes sense'

The aleph and the star
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you send a text message to 07861328892, the number on the back of the photo on Jon's desk, you get a reply from Jon saying "The facts.. 1: i think i know where the aleph meets the star. 2: i know they are here. thanks for every thing i am well hidden. Will contact later. Defiantly." This seems to solve the aleph and star riddle.

The video
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you had sent a text to Jon before 21:56 GMT 29/01/05 then you would have received a video message (http://www.fuggled.co.uk/jonharker.qtl) by phone. the video has some backwards audio (http://www.fuggled.co.uk/message.wav) of a woman saying something like "Take the process to it's logical conclusion". The video seems to show Jon walking , a hooved foot and then a hand with something on it.

As far as we know, no-one knows the password for the door, or for the contract.

the following places have revealed clues:

1. http://www.hornchurchstar.com -
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the crossword reveals the password 'confer'

2. http://www.pathwaytravel.com/index2.htm. there are loads of Red herrings, and random non-eventful clues here. There is also a note left by Jon in the Hilbert's guest book.

3. http://www.friendsreunited.com - you can search for Jon Harker here to get the co-ordinates to reveal
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
'confer'.
. he had stated in his diary that 'friends' would be able find his password.

I think I may have hit on something.
By now we know that Jon went to Hilbert's Hotel in Babel. It says so in his December cache. Looking in the Hilbert's guest book reveals some interesting hidden clues:

'Reassuringly' - probably a nod to Stella which is reassuringly expensive.
'Red Herring'
'Wrong'
'No Password'
'Ibidem' - this is the password to the early cache.

Of course, we've seen these before.

However, this one i cannot fathom:
"Never thought maths would be such fun. Congratulations to. The owners and agencies involved. So nice to have. Space" (sic)

This gives us NCTSS. A caesar cypher reveals nothing.
(The alphanumeric code for this is 143201919.)

There is a further hidden clue in another message:
"I came here to discuss the use of the Aleph in Mathematical philosophy. I must say it was a most enlightening experience and will Never forget it. As far as Hilbert's went, I find Wonderfully appropriate. Although you can't help feeling that there is more around the Corner"(sic)

This gives us I AM IN AHIWAC.
(The alphanumeric code for this is 1892313)
Maybe I am reading this wrong? Ahiwac has not been mentioned before.
(The W of the word 'went' may also be a capital, though it is hard to tell. This would give AHWIWAC).
As far as I can tell 'ahiwac' is a Filipino word - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=ahiwac. I am unable to translate it though.

Could it be I AM IN A HIWAC? If so, what's a hiwac? A quick Google search reveals "High Impact Weather Advisory Committee"! I don't think that's it!

This clue has not been mentioned anywhere else. Could it be the missing link? Is Jon in the Philipines?

Furthermore, because it is written that there "may be more around the corner" I have tried combining ahiwac with other letters found in the guest book.

I have tried running anagram programs on combinations of these letters.
NTCSSAHIWAC
with the following results:

A SCAN SWITCH - could the 'scanned' images of the guest book be switched backwards/reversed/mirrored to reveal more somehow? (Dan Brown is a fan of words which read both right-way up and up-side down).

SCAN AS WITCH - are witches anything to do with the devil?

ACTS AS WINCH - no ideas

I WANT CASH SC - could this be a nod to wanting money in return for a soul?

-----------------------------------------------------
Anyway, I am going to pursue this path further. There are other notes in the guest book leaving capitalised letters such as I, G, U etc

Hopefully a combination of these letters will give a decent anagram.

Anagrams

I think that anagrams may be used in the game. However, I am not good enouhg at deciphering them. Nor do I know of a good engine to use. This may be nothing, but I did notice that the phrase:

"Don't have nightmares, Jon."

Contains the name Dennis Horen.

If anyone else can make anything else out of it, let me know.

"Don't have nightmares jon"

Dennis Horen math vat jog
Dennis Horen jag vat moth
Dennis Horen Java gmt hot

Doesn't look likely!

but there are loads of other words in there such as ENDGAME

the one that made the most sense has GATHERED MONTHS A INV
but even that is clutching at straws.

well

Another possibility is Navajo, based on a
'snake in the grass'
decoding made elsewhere on the forums.

It might be a good idea to check this against WWII Navajo windtalker databases, as I believe it fits the language.

All it takes is a little push...

"Don't have nightmares Jon"

NAVAJO THEN REDIG MONTHS

I think we need to run this navajo database through his cache and see what it comes up with.

Well

I meant Ahiwac.

Try that.

Navajo has many dialects.

A search found the term in a foreign news article, just google it...

...Uv ahiwac a egelot the the aj uzagol I ohoyu bat ideha haq uxequs asix uso weza
pa pab. Eof zod ewiq a ugocom the ikac a ikaci yev oh aluw...

This set of capitals hasn't been mentioned before, and may be fertile ground...

OK.
I gonna run AHIWAC and it's permutations through this code database

http://www.history.navy.mil/faqs/faq61-4.htm

edit:

so far
A-CHI means 'intestine' and signifies the letter I

CHA is part of the Navajo words for Australia and Germany

just been throwing around the idea of the full stops being decimal points or breaking up the sentance into groups of numbers. using the number of letters you come up with 31.17.28.12.5 and using the number of words you come up with 7.2.5.4.1

tried to convert to letters (eg. 1=a 2=b.... 31=e 32=f ect) and got -
31.17.28.12.5 - eqble
7.2.5.4.1 - gbeda

look at these as possible anagrams, only word that made sense was badge. doubt its relevent, but still...

maybe someone else can translate it, the words are to specific for me to translate

(my) translation:
The project concerns the computerization (informationalization, if that is propper english) of the border trafic within and between comunities (probably in the european community).

so it means that some kind of border control gets IT-ed

-other duch-speaking people are free to comment on this translation-

well, that shouldnt be too hard too translate, here go my 2 eurocents (which is more then 2 dollarcents hehe):

The project issues about the informaticalisation (getting online) of the europian community customs. it is about getting regulations for traffic between european countries, and how they should regulate the customs....

damn, it is difficult to translate.....
it is a nice shot, but i think it is way off what is meant here.....
