Haiku Puzzle

Hey guys, a few weeks ago I put up a small puzzle trail in a thread entitled You know... I really do love Haiku.... Only two people went through the effort to solve it, so I figured the puzzlers on the board would want to take a stab at it, since it seems to be quite a waste of the old time. The starting puzzle is posted below as a .txt. Remember, the end result is a haiku. Hope some of you find this short trail amusing, as I had a good time making it Smile

i'm trying to figure it out RIGHT NOW
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
i'm stuck on the part where you need to de-steg the vanguard picture...or i'm pretty sure that's what you have to do (otherwise i'm lost)...and i know it's Wynton Marsalis in the source, but I can't find any password to work!

a little frustrated...

pingu, I got stuck in the same spot.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's kind of one of those trial-and-error things, as there's really no clear indication, once you've reached the next step, how you were supposed to know how to get there. It's not a difficult step, it's just not completely intuitive. Jinxie and I talked about this a bit, and I would say this is maybe the only hiccup/flawed bit in the whole trail - and even so, it's such a small hiccup, because the rest of it is so nicely-done. Just know that getting that it's Wynton Marsalis is good!

Wrong Source

Pingu, I don't think the pic is stegged...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
it looks screwy cause Mr. J used a trick from ILB to insert a clue inside the image...the clue points back to Mr. Marsalis though...

Well, I am fairly sure that I should be looking for a web page now....
/something.htm or .html? (probably html since the default webpage is index.html)

Wynton Marsalis and Vanguard. There was a Live at the Village Vanguard album in a Google search....But nothing for live.htm(l) or village.htm(l) or or liveatthevillage.htm(l) or (M/m)arsalis.htm(l).

I could keep trying, but I should really be working...

I tried that too, not too much though, and not the same words as you, because i was hoping so much it would be stegged....a flaw in my character i guess, i only try what i want to be true...lol

Like Krystyn said, it's the flawed section of the puzzle. I would've felt bad not saying something Smile

I am stuck at the end now.....

I am cheating a bit, since I have krystyns solution to the puzzle from the haiku thread.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I have the 61 numbers and the three passages. My first thought was Beall, but I don't see a Z at the start of any words in the passage....unless there is another level of encryption, and that would be really mean....
