Okay, I'm all registered and stuff now, so this should be cool. =)

I finally got the WAV file to play, and it doesn't sound like it's over the phone. Maybe it's me, but during the phone conversation, the amount of distortion is the same on both ends, which makes me think it might be a less professional group than the ILB people. Maybe that's just me, though.

Correct. Yet, that's probably just a typical fiction-perception convention, like when there's a phone conversation in a movie. And the recording device may actually be not some kind of phone tap, but a simple voice recorder used with a hand-free phone.
Anyway, I'm not going to complaint about this kind of minor details. As I said before, this may very well be a low-tech ARG made by a first-timer PM with limited resources, but nonetheless it's a pretty charming one imho. Let's keep in mind that the kind of high-profile resources applied to ARGs like ILB is only possible when financed by some commercial operation with a relatively consistent investiment.

Crap, I missed it all again! Argh, the curse of working and having school as well. Plus, I live in the UK which means late nights and awkward thinking in order to get involved in the game Razz.

Anyway, adding to what I said eariler, someone said that CN could stand for Core Network - and I agree. However, I'm still skeptical about FW. I think it could mean Fixed Wireless as it is hardware and would tie in with loss of communication. Either way, if I'm right there's a strong possiblity this girl could be artificial intelligence - just like in ILB. I mean, the girl seems to be locked away, but she's still able to send E-mails.

Also, remember these sisters are twins, is there a possibility we're speaking to both of them and not realising it? Or perhaps we will do? Remember the difference in language in the E-mails. The first was well punctuated and the second was full of bad, lazy grammar. They appeared to be different styles of typing.

This is just raw speculation, but I'm just exploring avenues of thought.

Good point, Crowfoot. We might be mixing our sisters up. But if that's the case, then why would both sisters choose Lenny to contact at the same time? That's really eerie.

And for the record, I'm not saying the recording method is bad. Just trying to dig up some idea of who might be handling this.

I was privately thinking the same thing. Being kinda new to this genre, I hesitated to mention it. In the first e-mail, "my hardware is damaged" sounds like something an AI would say about it's self.

Well, I'm gonna go ahead and jump in on this one. Sounds like the start of somethin fun. Do we have someone who can definitely answer the phone yet? If not we need to find someone, soon. Also, Lenny mentions about how his dad "helped him out". Just a speculation but we did find that military establishment by googling, perhaps Lenny's dad is military?

WOAH! These are just my observations, but lets put the pieces together here and review the evidence:

>>Lenn's last name is James
>>The twins believe lenny can help them
>>Researching pulls up a military base
>>one of the twins knows the Fort Bragg motto, Survive Evade Resist Escape

unusual, yet familiar, no?

Military-grade AIs trying to desert from the Army? Or worse, some kind of cybernetic experimental secret project gone wrong?
(lol, that's so paranoid, in a lovely X-Files way! Very Happy )

Well, I'm gonna go with what paratrooper said on that... (is he one of us, really?) I'd stay off researching the fort bragg site, especially with searches about weird hardware, aliens, etc.... they can trace back searches, so I'm not sure its too wise to be acting funny around em (remember that kinda arg that wound up being all about using [bunnies] to [love] the [rabbit burrow]? If not, check out the other news and rumours... the locked one.... don't know its name.

Actually, I never considered that the sister WASN'T trapped in cyberspace, AI or, say "program". Its new to me that this might be a person, or humaniod alien... this girl (s?) is/are definitly IN the internet, though its possible they weren't ALWAYS

Until we get more info, we're out of luck, I think. I can think fo a few possibilities for this woman, for instance:

--An artificial intelligence trying to escape

--an alien who somehow has access to a phone

--a psychic human who can remotely access electronic devices such as computers and phones

--a spy inside the military looking for a sister that got taken away

Speculations are just that right now. We either need Lenny to speak up or to get that phone call.

Unfortunately, I can think of one more possibility for this woman:

She's one of us. We've been calling the payphone at all hours, so why couldn't siren's cousin have picked up one of ours?
Of course, since a meeting was set up, it couldn't have been an accident (unless your cousin was the one who arranged the date) but maybe someone playing a prank?
We have to consider this, as Lenny hasn't updated. At all. Even by email.
Sheesh!

Jeese, this guy knows how to keep us hooked. Following what you have said, I would say the AI or the military options are the most feasible at the moment. But let's remember, clutching at straws this early on in the game could be our downfall. Let's continue speculating with the evidence we do have until another update comes up.

me neither, but I guess that was the similarity to ILB. Crowfoot is right, we should keep open minds.
