I suspect it won't initially begin with a sudden explosion of hundreds of payphones ringing and clamoring just yet. If I remember correctly in ILB, there weren't as many coordinates for payphones when it first started as there were close to its completion.

With all due respect, unless I see evidence to the contrary I can't believe 4orty2wo would be involved in a project such as this. For one thing, ILB had a very concise update schedule. Lenny seems to update at a pretty random pace. For another -- unscheduled, live chat in a project the size of ILB would have been quickly overwhelmed. "Lenn" seems blissfully unaware of this potential situation. Finally, the details that are trickling in seem to be specifically gearted towards ARG fans. ILB was announced to ARG fans first, but the content was created in a way that let anyone in.

This is not meant to be a slight against Lenny or anyone's work. It is, however, a strong indicator that this isn't the second coming of ILB--rather, a dedicated fan's contribution to the universe of the first.

Oh, and if there's any "new" info, could we please start a new topic?

new posting

From Lenny's blog:

Wednesday, February 09, 2005

I received an email last night, all of which was coded in Hex, except for the first line which stated that the database had been completed. Encoded within the hex were AT LEAST a few hundred GPS coordinates...

I received an email from a friend, who transcribed a phone conversation for me to read...something caught my eye towards the end...the name Melissa popped up...a name which I had rapidly become familiar with while researching the history of a site known as www.ilovebees.com . It would appear that a girl who went by the name Dana went through an issue similar to the one I'm going through now...

My only question at this point is because the transcript as well as the site mention someone named Melissa, could there be a connection?

If whoever is calling me can read this Xanga, call me. I think I'm beginning to understand now..please call me, and don't be afraid.

Could there be any hidden links somewhere?? As i remember, ILB hid secret messages in Picture codes, or something like that?

ILB has been changed.

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this yet, but the ILB site has been changed. The black timer bar thingy now reads "HALT - MODULE CORE HEMORRHAGE

Control has been yielded to the
SYSTEM PERIL DISTRIBUTED REFLEX.

grope:
seeker > !attach Princess
fail "msg: SPDR-5.14.3

evade evade evade

!probe extern proc 1
rogue proc

!bite rogue proc 1 recurse
clean !splotch confidence 100

Mission Log   MIA   Recruits

COUNTDOWN TO WIDE AWAKE AND PHYSICAL:
NaN:NaN:NaN:NaN:NaN

Make your decisions accordingly." NaN:NaN:NaN:NaN:NaN? No longer counting down. Hmmm....

It hasn't changed.

Apparently your computer isn't displaying it correctly for some reason. I just checked and the counter is still going.

I repeat: This is NOT 4orty 2wo.

No, it definitely isn't 4orty 2wo. ILB was one in a million.

Hey, at least you're out there searching and trying to solve this. It was a good observation, incorrect maybe, but it was the sort of thing we need.
