And yet, it is NOT 4orty 2wo. That much should be obvious from the quality of the writing. Sean Stewart, it isn't.

Just to back up Dogged, the countdown displays NaN for me as well. I'm using Safari, though, and that might make a difference.

Yep, Safari doesn't work well with the countdowntochina javascript (don't know why).

There isn't any change - just check the source on the page and it is still counting down to 2552,10,9,6,7,0 - which is (I think) 7:06am, 9th August 2552 Very Happy
Ahem - it is really Thu Nov 09 2552 06:07:00 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time). Yes, I use Safari, so I guessed the order of hours/minutes/days/months...and got it wrong Very Happy)

Anyway, this line of reasoning is Trout and not a part of Lenny's quest!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Ahem. Sorry, that was my first reaction.

Second reaction: woah.

Gosh, this is so amazingly exciting. (Sorry, err, this is my first ARG, you're probably all thinking, 'what a noob...') The Xanga update, and then the phonecall... Wow. *falls over and dies, several times, though is finally brought back from dead for final time*

...

Just... wow. Now all I want to find true happiness is for Lenn to email me back. But whatever, it doesn't matter much I'm too elated at the moment to really care. Very Happy

And thanks for posting the ILB summary. I have a feeling, though, that a really missed out there... X.X

O well. Hooray! This is so much fun.

If you ever need anyone to 'run some errands' in New York City, I'll see if I can.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway. Main point of post: hooray!

SPDR is the System Peril Distributive Reflex. It was a subprogram in Melissa designed to repair the AI should anything happen to her (it?). However, early on in the I Love Bees chronicle, the Pious Flea (the Covvie viral) was able to impersonate the SPDR and get Melissa to delete it by claiming that it was a higher version number than the real SPDR, thus rendering it obsolete.

If I had to guess, I would say that 5.14.3 is the Pious Flea's version number.

I believe full details are under a heading "The Widow's Journey," wherever ILB information can be found.

About the whole is it/isn't it 4orty 2wo thing. I don't know if this is from them, or not, but I just hope MS, Bungie, or 4orty 2wo doesn't get too uppity if it isn't. I wanna see this play out.

------------------------

Okay, new research idea - does someone have access to the old axon locations? If it's possible, we should go back and see if this specific payphone was getting enhottenated during ILB. If it was, we could be positive that there was a Beekeeper in the region, who we could potentially tap as a backup if our current payphone runner couldn't make a rendevous.

Man, I hope they have some coord's near Abilene, TX. I also wished that a PM would have a game where physcal clues were hidden, with only coords given to find them. Like GeoCaching.

The geocaching bit would be cool, but difficult to plan out on a national basis. You'd have to have several people who are willing to forego that clue or not play the game in order to help hide them. Or you could pull a Neurocam and just give people orders to do stuff without them having any idea what they're doing. =)

But yeah, I have a coupel spots in the Midwest I'd want to hide clues at. =)

I fully expect to be trouted for this, but - is the more weird element the fact that, regarding the first phonecall, it happened to ring *just* as 'Mike' turned up? Was there someone standing there and watching the payphone all day every day until someone showed up?

I had the same thought...Maybe they did have the phone staked out, checking it everyonce inawhile? He did say he was there for like an hour before it rang.

Well guys, it's been great playing with you all. Hopefully, soon, a new ARG will arise which we can play together once again. We're a good team, see you again soon.
