Ok, I've searched for this but can't seem to find an answer.
Was any significant info ever found through the IndexB image montage? Has anyone figured out the location of the city in the upper left frame? What currency is the bill shown?
I've been looking, but thus far haven't found this info and I'm just curious

The bill is a fifty pound note:

A few things were found about the montage. First, clicking on the black space in the note from sente in the montage brought you to the S. Marchant site. The location of the city was (correct me if I'm wrong) thought to be London. The monetary note is as explained above... *thinks* Lesse... Perplex City Academy logo. *thinks* All I got off the top o' me head.

The Wiki for the Perplex City is up to date. So any more info can be found there.
In other words, I think we've found pretty much everything there is to find on IndexB

To add to what Shish said, Adrian Hon (our PM) said in an interview that he's been thinking about this since The Beast. That was the 2001 ARG that Shish mentioned.

New players What happens to people who enter their e-mail into the perplexcity site now? Will they still recieve all the mails previosly sent?
[Edit - this should have been posted in the "Questions - Ask them here" thread, and for that reason I am merging this into that topic - Fi]

Seej - Site update time

the root of the site says it was updated Wednesday at 4 mins to midnight.
In fact, the time displayed is in a 24 hour format, so the site was updated at 4 minutes to midday.[/quote]

This is somewhat off the game itself but I was wondering about the following image:

Solving the riddle points to you printing the image. After printing, you see an image different than the one on the screen. What is the process taken to do this sort of thing?

I apologise if this is the wrong place for this, but this is the place that I was lead to when i searched for the Latin phrase, "Nihil obstat scientia."
It's been translated several times. I asked a friend of mine who is a classics major, and she came up with a translation similar to those already given: "Knowledge opposes nothing."
The interesting thing is that she came up with a second meaning as well, "nothing opposes knowledge." If I understood her correctly (which I may not have), the translation differs depending on which time period in latin (if that makes sense) you're talking about. Later in the Roman Empire the second translation would have been true, earlier the first would have been the correct one. Given the speculation about time periods and time flow and so forth, I thought I'd mention it.
This will probably be my only contribution even close to being meaningful. Yay me.

I think the difference may be that "Knowledge opposes nothing" could be taken to mean that knowledge is worthless, and the second translation "Nothing opposes knowledge" means the exact opposite, there is nothing that can counter knowledge...
bah...its late...hopefully what i wrote made sense.
