Do I sing like a bird released?

I should try and update the webpage tonight, shouldn't I? Especially since we have all these fabulous attendees to add to our already fabulous list!

I ... have no idea about a wiki. That may be the ARG-fest-o-con you're thinking of there, pardner.

*shrug* these days it's wiki-mania everywhere, so I don't doubt I'm wrong Razz

but ya more info would be kule... I'm trying to convince a friend to go with me - if he does, then as long as I can afford the weekend, and I can get friday off work, then I can be there Smile still a few things to resolve first though... so I'm not definite. but man, I really wanna be there Wink

Hey All,
I thought is would pay a visit while on the road up in Alberta, CA and to let people know I have a room for Hivemeet at the doubletree near the airport and also near the convetion center where the anime and several others will be staying. I also have rented a minivan for beekeeper transport in case people need it.

Sweet, I'm sure that minivan will be more than useful!

Are the plans for Sunday defined? Are we meeting for breakfast at some place? Is lunch still an option?

I'm thinking about going to Ikea store on Sunday or Saturday morning. I'm actually considering booking 2 different hotels for Friday and Saturday night, due to prices and location.

So far, there have been no plans made or suggested for Sunday morning/lunch. I was thinking a bunch of us could descend on some Golden Nugget somewhere, as the food is cheap and good, and they have bottomless cups of coffee.

Well, I'm using hotwire.com. It's possible to get a 4* in Downtown (Chicago Loop) for $87/night for Friday night. And then, I'd stay on a 3.5* for about 41/night on Saturday, close to the IKEA store, which would be great If I go there on Sunday morning.

I found a web site that has possible ID for hotwire.com hotels, so you can have a better idea of which hotel you're booking before commiting to it. Here's the link:

http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?act=ST&f=216&t=642&

According to this list, the 4* could be the Hilton Chicago and Towers or the Palmer House Hilton. Either way, it's a very good deal for a 4* in downtown ... The best deal I can get for both nights at the same hotel in downtown is $86/night for a 2.5*, which is very likely to be the Raphael Hotel.

What time were you thinking?

I would be up for a lunch on Sunday... it worked out to be cheaper for me to stay an extra night and catch a train back Monday morning than it would have to grab a flight out on Sunday. (Rail schedule is a little hinky right now. Drat.) Hopefully there'll still be stuff to do and see... is the Sears Tower open on Sundays?

I don't see a problem with going to the play on Friday night instead of Saturday. Though I don't know if the world is ready for me to inflict karaoke on it.

Should I bring my Xbox controller and headset? (Starting to plan what to pack, and with mp3 player, digital camera, battery charger, AA batteries, AAA batteries, SD and SM memory cards, and the like I think I'm going to clank when crossing the border. Smile One more on the pile won't hurt, but if it's not needed...)

-- Steve's finally feeling that the trip is going to be "real". Feels kinda cool.

I'll bring mine as well. I'll be driving, so it's not like it'll be a problem to carry in an airplane. But people have to promise not to laugh at my broken headset, with rubberband holding it together! I might buy a new one before the hivemeet just to avoid that! Laughing
