I think we should have a Condorcet poll to see who gets the Hivemeet honor of noogie'ing Clayfoot until he cries.

As far as the LAN goes, I have a fantastic little Component->VGA transcoder. Does marvels to the Xbox's progressive scan signal, and works with pretty much any monitor, so if anyone has an LCD they could bring that might work out well.

I don't want to get to hung up on it either - if it happens, it happens, but I don't think we need to go out of our way for it.

Gee, I'm not sure this is such a good idea...

What transcoder do you use? I'd like to build one of those overhead projector/LCD TV's on Tom's Hardware, but VGA LCD's are much cheaper than LCD TV's.

I use X2VGA with my 21" monitor (which I am NOT bringing with me because I do NOT want to DIE by monitor).

I use the Vdigi VD-Z3 - I like it a little better then the X2VGA since (at least theoretically, I can't say I have too many other 480p devices than the Xbox) this will work with any component device. No complaints with it - it's so nice in Halo it almost feels like cheating. One of the downsides (as I alluded to) is it does nothing for 480i... I think some monitors can handle the 480i signal and some can't, so it's really up to the display, but it's not like the X2VGA where they have something in place for converting that at least a little.

My current monitor has component in, so I haven't used it recently, but at least for what I used it for (playing the Xbox on my monitor), it worked fantastically.

Related to the VGA monitor thing .... did you know that you can view the dashboard in progressive now?

All you have to do is press both the joysticks and both the triggers. It was updated at some point. This is presuming you have XBL, I believe.

Hey Guys,
I have both a tv and and 1 xbox covered if we decide to do the LAN thing.

I use a DELL mp 2100 projector at home for my xbox and movies. it has a travel case to take on the road so it can be easily transported. All i would need is a wall big and light colored enough to show the projector on And we have 1 system down. everyone would probably have bring their own contollers though since the laptop case i use to transport my XBox can only hold two beside the xbox.

Also My hotel is probably close enough to Incyr's group to make this easier as well.

Yikes. This is EXACTLY what I was afraid of. While all the rest of y'all are off LAN'ning, will there be anything for us non-Halo-playing ILB'ers to do?

The way I plan on doing stuff, there is pretty much no time for LAN'ing, personally. So, um?

I think you'll be OK.
