I just think y'all would dig it.

I've been going for well over a decade, and even when they're off, it's still tons of fun. Plus, a huge group of us, together? Yessssssss.

So, just a question - what other beekeepers will be at the ARGfestocon in July? Or really is the Chicago meet the main beekeeper one? Crying or Very sad

Please Add me to the list of people definitely Coming to Chicago. I have finalized my taxes for the year and my refund allows me to add the final component to be able to attend the event.

beekeepers in NYC

I think bagsbee, Anthrax and I count as beekeepers. I mean I think anyone would consider me a beekeeper - I played the game with passionate commitment, had significant impact throughout the course of the game, helped create player resources, and patiently supported and encouraged all players. Anthrax was a moderator, and answered phones even in the face of police questioning. Bagsbee answered phones with great dedication, and sang, unforgetably, to Melissa while outside the Staten Island Ferry -an event that was mentioned in the PM post-game chat.

Does SpaceBass count as a beekeeper -his play was a bit behind the scenes and he was making ilovebeer, but I think that he counts. Anyway, we will definitely be there along with lots of other beekeepers. Information about attendance by the ilovebees PMs is forthcoming. Let me say that I don't think people will feel disappointed Very Happy

Another point, I see the Chicago hivemeet, like the possible Scandinavian ARGFest, as an enhancement to the community and to ARGFest. Each of them provide an option for people who simply can't attend ARGFest or choose not to attend. This can only help reinforce community bonds.

I am sure that the Chicago hivemeet organizers see how hard all the NYC ARGFest planners are working: to create a memorable experience for everyone who can attend in NYC; and, to include presentations and discussions with PMs as a new feature in ARGFest. I hope they wish us well in our endeavor. As we wish them all the best as well.

I hope every beekeeper -lurker or active player - knows that they are wanted and welcomed in NYC. As of course, everyone in the whole ARG community is wanted and welcomed. We will have some special beekeeper treats in store. We will also have some special Urban Hunt and other treats in store. We may even be able to surprise some Cloudmakers. Smile

I don't think thebruce was asking whether beekeepers were invited to the Argfest, or whether any were going. But Chicago sounds like a major beekeeper meet up, and I think he's trying to go to either chicago OR new york, and wants to know where he'll be able to meet the most beekeepers.

I have yet to decide about NYC. It'll depend on finances and how much PTO I have at that point in time, plus how much I'm going to need for the summer, etc.

krystyn and angelo, together at last! ;)

OMG, so these are two of the freaks who'll be at the Chicago hivemeet. You have been duly warned. They are rather violent individuals. Ask Phaedra, pita, Durga, and Jinxie.

I swear this is not trout: Let's have a Condorcet poll to pick activities. We use this thread to nominate any number of activities for that weekend (like the Neofuturists, the Anime convention, and LAN Halo 2), then vote on which ones we like the best. The poll will have multiple winners --an unlimited number, if it's an option. The most popular activities are a definite go, and the rest we take up as opportunity permits. We could end the poll when we're so close to the actual event that we need reservations. If we set it up as a public poll, folks can see the results as each person votes. If we set it up as private, the results are a little more reliable (no ballet box stuffing or votes by nonparticipants), but you can't see the results until it's all over.

Yes. Violent. Prone to sudden lunges at one another.

You have indeed been warned.

That is great! What is the most appealing aspect of that picture? Is it the exhausted look of angelo's or the manic expression of krystyn's?

Neither one.

It is ...

Obviously ...

MONKEY HAT!

I want to go to Chicago to meet that hat. The Beekeepers would only be an added bonus.
There must be something wrong with me. Not that I am just NOW figuring that out...

ARGFest clarification

well perhaps I misunderstood this question:

It still sounds as if he is asking "what other beekeepers will be at ARGfestocon?" - which is what I tried to answer.

I was joking with thebruce a bit as I got to know him fairly well as a fellow member of the fireflies. ( I called him on my cell from the event in NYC to update him and managed to overnight him a copy of the DVD and the lanyard - he was the person I had promised stuff to that made me unable to participate in the swag raffle.) So, I was surprised that he didn't immediately classify me (or bags or anthrax) -a few of the planners of ARGfest - as "beekeepers."

I thought the difference between going to Chicago and New York was based on geographic or personal preference. Certainly there will be many beekeepers in NYC and beekeeper things will be happening.
As we all know, there were a large number of beekeepers, even though many of us don't play H2 on Xboxlive. ( Of course, we will also be having general ARGstuff like informal events with PMs that I keep droning on about and surprise stuff that I can only hint about, along with the socializing and drinkering.)

I want to clarify that beekeepers will be a large part of the NYC ARG group, so that there is no misunderstanding.

heh rose, apologies if I didn't express the question well enough Smile I thought the 'other' in the question would be enough... INCyr had it right pretty much - which other beekeepers will be ARGfest, ie other than the few already planning to be there, including you Smile how could I forget you? you reported in to me 'ellipse', the NY portion of the final puzzle, and you were pretty much the only beekeeper in active contact at the NY training, IIRC... Mr. Green so it's all good!

I was just curious who else is planning to go ARGfest, as it seems I have a better chance of getting there than Chicago, yet I would so much love to go to Chicago and meet more beekeepers face to face... of course, if I can get to both, well, "that would be perfection" (sorry, just finished watching Friends Razz)

Right now, I'm trying to decide if I should take a week off for vacation and go to NY, which I have a better chance of doing at this point than going just for the weekend... but that vacation would mean I'd have to forego a week kid's camp I volunteer at each year (if it's still on this year, which I'm waiting to hear word)... very tough dilemma Smile at least there's a few months left...

As for chicago, well, unfortunately that's out unless someone around me's going too... doesn't help that Chicago's farther than NYC... ...right?.. yeah Confused
