Haven't been keeping up with this thread as well as I should.

It... Just... KILLS Me to have to say this.

But due to a late final the night of the 13th and the fact that I am still just a poor college student making just enough to survive, I will not be able to attend this meeting. I tried hard to make it work right up to the last minute, but unfortunatly, I just can't doit.

have a quick peek at this map of the commuter trains that atdt found, or this map Krystyn pointed out over on the Chicago Transit web site. Public transit in Chi-town is pretty good, which is good news for those of us who won't be driving.

edit: Hee hee hee! My choice of hotel location (Michigan and Ontario) is looking better and better; six blocks from Fogo, se7en blocks from Ed's, 10 minute bus ride from Union Station, 15-20 minutes from the museum... though the price kinda hurts.

what does everyone think about having some ID cards for dinner on friday night? here's what i whipped up, it has your icon, screenname, realname, and a space for any other online handles you might have (gamertag, livejournal, etc) print size is 3" x 4"

My train officially arrives in Chicago at 9:30, but who knows how late Amtrak will be (when I went to the NYC training event I wound up being an hour and a half late; luckily not for the event, but so late I didn't have a chance to have dinner with folks beforehand). Assuming I have enough time, I'd like to get over to the O'Hare Hyatt, drop off my bag (assuming I (probably will) have one) and head back down for lunch at 12:30, but we'll see exactly what happens.

BTW, if anyone sees any way to put Chicago public transit info on a Palm, let me know - that would definitely come in handy for me.

Looks like plan B is to take the train direct from O'Hare airport at 11:32. How hard do you think it will be to drag around a suitcase until the end of the evening? I will have a queen-sized air mattress packed, after all.
