Go even if you won't be going to the Hivemeet, because I just made my very first website -- and a highly dramatic Flash movie! -- and I'm insufferably proud of it! (Especially since Kali said I wouldn't be able to learn how to make a website and use Flash in one weekend. I say to her: HAH!)

Make sure you have the screen full size, and your sound on.

update for me: I now know I won't be able to make it that weekend, though I truly wish I could... I now have a very very important engagement that weekend that I cannot miss... it hurts so, and yet it excites me so... I honestly wish I could be two places at once now. *sigh* everyone I want to meet will be at the hivemeet, according to that guest list... so long playing together on Live, and still no chance to actually meet. I guess some things just weren't meant to be... Crying or Very sad

and, phaedra, if that was your first flash, I applaud you... my first flash was moving a filled circle around and animating some lines Razz hehe. this is like a cinematic experience Wink

Heeeee! I discovered the "glow" effects in Photoshop!!!!!

Previously, I just used Photoshop for cropping and resizing pictures and, you know, airbrushing out the occasional zit, redeye or stray piece of hair.

But now I realize it's a wonderful, wonderful substitute for actual artistic talent! I don't have to be able to draw!!!!

It's so much FUN!!!!

I wish I had other excuses to use it.

It is my first Flash. Flash is AWESOME. Software is AWESOME. Websites are AWESOME. Why have I never done any of this before?

Actually, it's funny you should say that. The first part, with the phone and Melissa -- well, I wanted to play around and do an ILB trailer sort of thing. But I really would have nowhere to use it. I don't have a website, and what would be the point to making a trailer for something already over?

Then I thought, "I can make a HIVEMEET trailer!!!"

So I did. Very Happy

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it. I will say, myself and Silrn will be intown from thursday-monday, as opposed to the fri-sun schedule laid out, so if people want to do some other things with us for those extra couple of hours, we'd be happy to oblige!

And Pheadra, wonderful website! I can sympathize with the whole not-doing-something-because-there's-no-reason-to bit. It hampers me quite often. But hopefully we'll see more outta you!

Also, my schedule is looking pretty good so far. I might even be able to come up on Thursday even. The more people are signing on for this thing, the more inticed I am to go. I really want to meet all my friends that I've been hunting down payphones and playing Halo with. Very Happy

Awe inspiring! Artistic! Informative! The web at its best! Excellent job.

I have made dozens of web pages and they all are utilitarian, but totally without artistry. They look like they were made by a scientist with no time to do other than the bare minimum necessary to deliver the required information. I wonder why...
