a few things:

1. yes it's obvious arsenal is referring to the football - i mean, what else? let's not forget jon's a londoner too.

2. the hiding room uses cookies - that's why you don't need to enter the password again to access the photo if you have done so already. you'll still have to enter the password otherwise. (just tried from my new workstation)

3. there are 2 eilean mor in scotland
- the one that's been mentioned already with the flannan isles lighthouse and all that.
- another one just off islay ( http://www.islay.com/sites/finlaggan_engl.htm )

it's more likely jon visited the latter as a kid, as it is nowhere as remote as the former - however it hasn't got as good a story as the lighthouse one.

Yep that sounds about right, the first island of Eilean Mor is situated 20 miles of the coast of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, very remote indeed, it is part of a cluster of 20 or so islands called the Flannan Islands.

The second is indeed in the Isle of Islay in a loch called Loch Finlaggan situated off the coast of Mainland Scotland near the Isle of Jura.
