Yes it seems that they stopped giving clues and just started throwing random red herrings and comments at us a while ago. They should realize that if we stop talking about clues that anythign that is left unsolved at this point is just way too vague.

I'm not used to A.R.G.s but this is the quietest (grammar?) I've ever known this one...

clues left to solve:-

1. password to mezzanine door - which we hope leads us to the book of star

2. password to sable & shuck contract

... things I think we are looking into:-

Peel castle ( but not the Moddey Dhoo as this lead goes nowhere, now) - I don't think Peel castle yields anything more now either except to link with Aleph & Star which only links to the Ariat Grid

Ariat Grid - hmmmm - the only googled result for "Peel Castle" "aleph" & "star".... just the one result

the website talks about where the fragments of the "Stone of Destiny" are now - is this important? hmmm?

I only know I feel LONELY... where has every peeps gone?

even if we don't have any solutions, can't we keep talking anyway

...if only to stop me cribbing another song's lyrics & getting on everyone's tits Very Happy

yeah, lyrics hehe..... here's one from savatage... CHANCES
kinda pointing to this ARRRRGGHHH

He was standing all alone
Trying to find the words to say
When every prayer he ever prayed was gone
And the dreams he's never owned
Are still safely tucked away
Until tomorrow he just carries on
Carries on
Carries on
Carries on

See the devil on the streets at night
See him running in the pouring rain
See him grinning 'neath a twisted light
I'll be back again
See the people standing in a row
See them nodding like a field of grain
No one sees the sickle though
Coming 'cross the plain

And this he knows, if nothing more
That waiting in the dark like destiny
Are those who kiss the dogs of war
And there is no tomorrow, no tomorrow
Take a chance
Take a, take a chance yeah

See the devil he is so intense
See the devil go and change his name
What's the going price of innocence
It can't be the same
Is it dark when the moon is down
Is it dark with a single flame
If there's glass falling all around
I am not to blame

And this he knows, if nothing more
That waiting in the dark like destiny
Are those who kiss the dogs of war
And there is no tomorrow, no tomorrow
Take a chance
Take a, take a chance yeah
Take a chance
Take a, take a chance oh yeah

Burn the night away
Burn the night away
Burn the night...

Pictures at an exhibition
Played as he stood
In his trance
Staring at his inhibitions
All the time believing
That it now came down to nothing but this chance
Chance
Chance
Chance

I fear you
Your silence
Your blindness
See what you want to see
In darkness
One kindness
One moment
Tell me what you believe

I believe in nothing
Never really had to
In regards to your life
Rumors that are not true
Who's defending evil
Surely never I
Who would be the witness
Should you chance to die

Father can you hear me
This is not how it was meant to be
I am safe and so are you
As for the other's destiny
(simultaneously - add a new stanza each time
throughand continue as a round)
Father can you hear me
This is not how it was meant to be
I am safe and so are you
As for the other's destiny

I believe that situations
All depend on circumstance

Look away
Look away

Pictures at an exhibition
Played as he stood
In his trace
Staring at his inhabitions
All the time believing
That it now came down to
Nothing but this chance

I thought we had finished with the mezzanine door? I mean, its one thing to have two different passwords for the cache, but all that does is change/add a few things. To actually have a password that completely changes the function of the door seems a bit much to me. To the best of my knowledge, all we have left unsolved is:
Jon's password for his S+S contract,
What the reference number on inferno cargos does,
if there is anything we can do to get 100 on our assessments. If im wrong pr if there are more, can someone tell me?
Ryan.

Couple of interesting things...In one of the pictures from Olaf's site we saw our 'lucifers' office with a painting on one of the walls...this is the actual painting..
http://www.artprints-on-demand.co.uk/noframes/delacroix/faust.htm

also...seems dear Lucifer is none other than Anthony Acker...any of you that have seen Scary movie 2 may actually recognize him from the exorcist scene...
http://design.weblogsinc.com/entry/9884670691380881/

Doubt there are any clues to be found with the painting but it's interesting to see none the less Smile

That is interesting, and has been noted before.
The link to Faust through the painting is also reinforced by the horoscope section of the Hornchurch Star where it says "Fate sees you reading the work of Johann Von Goethe" - he wrote the poetic play 'Faust'.
The scene in the painting is that of the first act where Faust summons the devil (Mephistopheles) because he is about to commit suicide because he cannot fathom the meaning of life and man's place on earth.
In fact, the whole game is based on 'selling your soul' to the devil which is extremely Faustian in it's nature.
Out of curiosity I bought the book last week and have just finished reading it.
There are many striking similarities between the book 'Faust' and this game:
For instance:
A black dog turns into the devil
Faust's soul is deemed pure by God, and therefore God allows the devil to have a crack at 'breaking' Faust
Faust signs a compact with the devil in his own blood, a bit like in the video we got from Jon.

Most interesting is this passage:
"But you are free, good poodle, there's the door!
Yet - what must my eyes behold!
Has nature such enigmas to unfold?
The dog assumes a stature strange to see:
Is it a phantom, or reality?
He rises up in might,
No canine form has such a height.
What spectre have I harboured here,
That like a hippopotamus comes near,
With fearful fangs and fiery, staring brow?
Nay, but I have you know!
For such a hybrid brood of hell,
The Key of Solomon will serve me well"

The key of solomon, and the temple of solomon have both been mentioned in these forums before. According to the notes in the back of the book, the Key of Soloman is a venerable book of magic, originally in Hebrew, used for the domination of hellish apparitions. Sounds a bit like the book of star, don't you think?

Faust tries a warding spell, to get rid of the demon:
"First to confront this thing of hell,
I must repeat the four-fold spell:
Salamander bright shall burn,
Sylph invisible shall turn,
Undine flow within her wave,
Kobold shall slave."

The spell does not work though. Perhaps it may help us to think of passwords in the future?

I can see why the horoscope in the Hornchurch Star would indicate that we had to read this book, but to be fair, having read it, there is nothing that really stands out as being extremely useful to us in this game. Yes, the stories are similar, but I feel that's where the trail ends.

meak,

thanks for that... you have made faust sound very interesting - think you should be working as a publicist! Smile

(you didn't write the blurb for Dan Brown's books did you?)

I will try and read Faust thanks to you...

if nothing else - this game will make erudite players out of us all

just T.O.L ....

as the game has gone a bit quiet and we are all pondering things..I went back today and re-read the "Fall of the House of carde" which was in the Flux mag I purchased from Brigid on E-Bay... the only interesting things I could see was that there was "Antonio" Carde and there is a woman called Jessica mentioned in the story

apart from the above only other interesting things are that that the "fall of the House of Carde " story was realised by Robin Nature-Bold - a pseudonym for for Mike Chavez-Dawson

..not much about Stella Artois in the story!

What? There are similarities between a play about the devil and a game about the devil? NO WAY.

email from Birgit

I believe I received a different email. I got one with a link to collect my reward. But I haven't got a good contract number yet.

the mail: At 21.00 on Friday 28th January I finally caught up with my brother at Peel Castle on the Isle of Man. As you can imagine, he wept when he saw me.

But just because you worked out Jon's location a little later than my other friends, I see no reason to exclude you from the reward.

Please visit http://www.sableshuck.com/acquisition/0205/conclusion to view the full details of the location in a secure web environment.

Thanks again and all my love,

Brigid xxx

Or to answer it more politely:

This is the same email that most of us received, all lead to the same place. Keep trying the test to get the 99 score, then you'll be at the same point as we all are, trying to figure out the puzzle to get a phone number, to call for the reward.
