hmm on the right hand left hand thing, from the perspective of the statue Eccliastia is on the left hand, Synagoga is on the right. Also if you go back to the original image Industria is on the left, Commercio is on the right, don't know how relevant any of this is but i that passage of scripture must mean something

Well, taking as a reference the central image (the stained glass stigmata-woman, the Virgin or whoever she is) Synagoga is on her right, and Ecclesia on her left. I think that's relevant, and it must be deliberate, because to obtain this the original image of one of them (i linked it earlier today) had to be mirror-reversed.

Could be in reference to left, or the fact that the image has been photoshopped. If you take the latter, you get the stigmata thing

yeah since Eccliastia is upset were not following scripture and the only scripture we've got so far says connects the right hand with the wise and then Synagoga tells us something is not right, both appear to be referencing the left.

Dunno if it's changed since you posted this or not, but when I look at it it says: Something is not right about this picture

Suspect the NOT RIGHT bit is some sort of clue, though I dunno what. And perhaps I'm reaching, but (as those of us who read Y: The Last Man know), Amazonians used to cut off their breast so that they could use a bow and arrow more comfortably. Probably reaching, but who knows.

Something is not right about this picture

maybe it's talking about the verse we found?

Maybe we are dealing with someone who likes to mutilate women? Shocked -

IMHO, the left nipple in the original is quite prominent. In the edited version, it's not. I think this is probably just a bit of PM censorship and not significant in the context of the game.

I know that. I was trying to point out the hypocrisy of editing a picture to show us mutilation and blood while at the same time removing an innocent clothcovered nipple. As if having nipples is somehow offensive.. Rolling Eyes
But enough about hypocrisy. Let's get back to game Laughing

Hmmm, I'm willing to put money on Syn refering to the verse's perspective on the two women's stances. However, the way she says it sounds vague, as if to say 'look past face value'.

Just as a point of interest:

The title for Syn's page is "Hello!"
The title for Cle's page is "Good bye!"
The title for Stigmata is "the book says all"

Just interesting, is all.

Grr... I get to have my hair wrenched out by popsicle sticks and the hands of little five-year-olds while all this happens!! Evil or Very Mad

So much has happened! Congratulations on everyone's finds!

'Salve' also means 'Hello' or 'Greetings' in Latin. Though since the rest is in Spanish, I doubt that's relevant.

You all might find this interesting, this is what I can remember my lute teacher telling me -- left-handed-ness has always had a bad reputation throughout history. In Italian, the word for 'left' also translates to 'wicked' or some other such adjective. When playing a stringed instrument such as the lute, guitar, etc., we often look to our left hand for the mistake, though it could easily have been our right. Left and left-handed-ness has always had a far worse reputation then right and right-handed-ness.

... see how useful it is for me to learn the lute from Mr. Patrick O'Brien? Laughing For more info on left-handed-ness vs. right-handed-ness, I found this page: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/1684/lefthand.html . I didn't actually get to read through it all, but I skimmed it.

More info on left vs. right -- 'left' is female; 'right' is male. When we spill salt on the table, a superstitious gesture is to throw it over our left shoulder, due to the fact that the devil lurks behind our left shoulder, and throwing it over our left shoulder throws it into his eyes.

A lot of the symbolism in this ARG seems to have to do with females, the devil, sin & corruption, left-ness-ness vs. males (but Cle is female, so...?? I guess is just that the symbolism connects the way it does, prob. nothing), god, purity, right-ness-ness... Umm... yeah...

Synagoga and Eccliastia, Jeudisam and Christianity, left and right, the Devil/Wrong/Sin and God/Right/'Non-Sin', hello and goodbye... I have to go study for Latin and History now, but I'll be thinking about this all night, no doubt.

As always

That's good spec, Arb.

Here's some more for you, concerning Anastasia's closing statement to me last night. It was quite strange. She said, "I love you."

Now, I've been thinking about this all day, and I've got some possibilities here. I've been trying to reason out why she would tell me that. One theory is that she said that in the way a child would mean it, because I was being nice to her. That certainly could be it, and that would be very nice.
The other theory that I've got comes from my screen name, DreamOfTheRood. The Dream of the Rood is an old British poem about the crucifixion of Christ, and this theory certainly gains relevance in proportion to the amount of stigmatic references we've been receiving. I think there's a link there, an implication. Am I missing something?

Thoughts?

Hmmm, there's something in The DaVinci Code about left being assosciated with evil too. Can't find the exact page right now, but IIRC it went something like this: left was assosciated with the sacred feminine and right with masculine by ancient/pagan cultures. The church, in it's attempt to empower males and and subjugate women, taught us that all those pagan things traditionally assosciated with the sacred feminine were symbolically assosciated with Satan, including left (right being masculine).

I'll re-read more carefully, but I think that was the basic gist....
