Archives 2

So I went to check out the life page via archives, and saw that someone had added some stuff...545 being one of those things. It was added twice, so I went back to see if it was a keyword for achives, and it is.

Right now the page says: 545; 545; life; good job....you found it

I'm really confused as to what this new text box stuff is supposed to be.[/quote]

Ahh, I now see where the 545 comes from. If you look closely at the pic on life, you'll notice that one of the trays on the left has the number 545 written on it. Another one below has what looks likes 547 on it..but I haven't gotten that to work.

----

Hmm, I wonder if 545 even means anything. I found you can create pages via the double text box pages - whatever you enter will show up the next time via archives2 (see my "testing an idea" "testing another idea" and "3rd times a charm"). Too weird.

Yeah, you're right: we can create new keywords. Who put "Answers can be found in the alcove........." on the life page? Are all of those messages ones we put there?

I have no idea what to do with this either though.

All of my messages have been stupid ones: testing, ferrets, now what do i do...

Nothing that could be considered a hint (at least I hope not).

---

The alcove page does have some interesting messages if they are from someone other than us.

Quote:
alcove; Jill Smith is alive...don\'t lose hope ~DB; +057834954193.+791538756018902.+7518963211478

Maybe a return of the Idunn nuttiness?

----

another possible clue: dead end

Quote:
strange dead end; or is it alive beginning?

Well I'm not really getting anywhere with this.
There's obviously something in
Quote:
+057834954193.+791538756018902.+7518963211478

It's 45 characters, so it can be broken into triplets:
Quote:
+05 783 495 419 3.+ 791 538 756 018 902 .+7 518 963 211 478

but all the numbers are already there, so I'm not sure what to do with the . and + if it's supposed to be some kind of ASCII substitution.

Did we put in Jon Harker on the life page? He has something to do with the Sable & Shuck ARG, so it's kind of weird.

Now I'm trying to find something that means "alive beginning". I tried birth, but no dice.

Edit: And what about the "info" page? Is that us? It has other TLDs on it, so it'd be a confirmation of the domain name theory.

Yeah, I'm still pretty much confused as to what to do there as well. I was hoping for another update, but haven't been able to find anything that I'm 100% sure is a hint for us.

There has to be a reason for those pages. If only I could figure out what.

Gah, I can't believe I didn't try this one!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
new site!
http://simonsumeria.info/

New stuff, haven't looked at it all, just wanted to post!

gah!

You know, a little while back I had tried something similar for the hell of it. I tried simon.info and sumer.info, but both had been registered in 2001 so I figured the whole new web idea was probably just nothing. After all...we've never had a new website through the Idunn game.

Great Job!!

Yeah, I tried simon.sumeria.info, simon.sumer.info, etc. a while ago.

Edit: Click on the white parts to go to different pages.

OK, the comments on the source:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
part of it is perl code to produce C code. The
char *i = "-102050110";
is C code too.
The C code basically just grabs the characters from that list 2 at a time and pads with spaces to make each group 3 characters

The result is (I think):
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
2 17 14 24 15
putting a . for a space we get
..2.17.14.24.15

Another ASCII code? .=, 1=0, etc?

I've also created another thread here to discuss the new site (cuz if this doesn't deserve its own thread, i dont know what does).

edit: i'm such an idiot. i thought i clicked on the little white things, but i didnt.

Oh! Sorry, I added an edit to my above post.

You can click on the white symbols to take you to 3 different pages: energy.php, will.php and idea.php.

Each one has a single line of text and a comment.

Doh, I mess up the numbers from above. I just ran the program:
Quote:
2 17 14 22 13

and some formatting:
Quote:
..2 .17 .14 .22 .13
