(moved my original post) - Reply Warning

Hi all,

I was just wondering if the people that run this board have any time at all and can write raw PHP, that maybe we could possibly have a reply warning on this forum?

Something that, whilst you are in the midst of your length, detailed reply regarding the solve or spec of a puzzle, it could warn you to say 'someone has replied to this thread, click here to view the reply in another window'

I guess that would require a regular background refresh for your browser to recognise that to start off with, but boy would it be handy

(btw, I don't actually expect anyone to go and do this- it would just be REALLY frickin cool )

Good idea, I think it would be hard to impliment though, like ya said your browser would have to be constantly refreshing.

That's an interesting idea; I'll take a look at it. In the meantime, if you hit "preview" before you submit your post, you can check in the topic review windows to see any new posts that have been added to the thread since you started editing.

oh my god. preview. So SIMPLE!!!!

It's always the way though - simplicity being the answer to everything and such. *sigh*

thanks Space - but the reply warning would still be cool - and if it was do able, I'm sure there would be an awful lot of PHP Forums out there that would buy that function.... Very Happy
