I made reservations for 10 people at Thirsty Bear (on the south side of Howard between 2nd and 3rd--closer to 3rd) for Friday night. The name is Beekeeper (Brooke for a first name -- sorry, I was staring at your name on this thread and they asked for a first name and I just read what was in front of me). Also, they don't accept reservations on the quarter hour, so I made them for 7:00 p.m.

If it ends up being more than 10, they can always add chairs. I know it pisses off a restaurant if you reserve a table for a larger group than shows up. I hope we get at least 10, since they have my credit card info (for large groups they require that for some reason) and I don't want annoyed restaurateurs going on a shopping spree on my nickel. Wink

If it's after work on Thursday I could make it. I will definitely be at the Thirsty Bear on Friday.

Aw, I can't make it on Friday night (although I *will* be at the exhibit in Berkeley on Friday afternoon- I just already have plans for the evening Sad). If anyone will be around then, I would definitely be up for hanging out.

Thursday afternoon, though, I *might* be able to do, depending on time and location. Somewhere at U.C. Berkeley would be easier for me, as I'm familiar with the area. I'm available throughout the day. Did Elan mention where/ when he'd prefer to meet?

Well, hmm. Haven't been able to coordinate something for Thursday yet. I'll try to post as soon as something happens, if it does.

Fun with spontaneity! Smile

OK, for anybody who can make it......

Elan Lee and Sean Stewart would like to meet up with us TODAY at 3:00 pm in the lobby of the Moscone Ctr where GDC is going on. You don't need to be a registrant to gain entrance to the lobby.

Anyway, I know that I, imbri and wraith will be there for sure. Hope to see some more of you! Smile

Can you make like Senor Wences, Steve, and pretend I am there? Thanks.

Clarification

It is actually the Moscone WEST, in case folks miss the GDC banners and milling throngs of badged game enthusiasts.

Also, Jane confirmed for Friday. She was so nice and came back to our table before the awards and said hello.

The show was....interesting. Of course, the best part was when Elan went up to accept the award on behalf of the rest of the ILB team. He thanked them all from the stage, and then thanked the players. (Full transcript to follow)

After the show, they all left before we had a chance to congratulate them. I saw Kiyash, but he was busy working, so I only waved.

Hi, i have to ask if this subtle bit about quarter-hour reservations meant that people wanted to meet earlier or later than 7pm. We have a few choices for arrival times using CalTrain, but i didn't know whether people would be showing up at the pub closer to 6:45 or 7:15pm tonight. No big deal, no synchronized watches, just curious whether I'll be fashionably late or freakishly early if we walk in at 7.

Great fun had by all! Jane challenged DarkForge to a game of The Square of Death, and Katamari Damachi cleaned up the table for us.

Photos to follow, soon!
