QUESTION: Getting Started/Spotting Email/(IRC Chat)

i registered several days ago, and have yet to be contacted. I am somewhat concerned about the email clues..the thing is, i get several hundred spam messages a week, and i'm afraid i might have missed something important. Maybe i should get a new email address? are there some general rules of thumb for spotting game emails?

I went to the irc.chat-solutions.org but don't understand it I'm computer challenged so don't understand Site Administrator etc. thanks

You should be googling things for yourself, but if you're new to IRC I found a link that should help you;

Easiest way to get to chat is to use the browser based applet at either
http://www.unfiction.com/chat/ or http://www.argn.com/chat.htm

Change the room to ctw and log on in.

Not everyone who registered or pre-registered has received the email (or they accidentally deleted it too Shocked ). I wouldn't worry about it too much; you can see a copy of it in the Interaction thread.

As for spotting in-game emails, most of what you'll get will be in response to your sending emails to in-game addresses (so hopefully you'll be expecting them). And as you familiarize yourself with the characters and sites involved, you'll get a better idea of what to look for if something unsolicited arrives.

thanks

thanks for your help. I learn new things everyday, but sometimes being an old dog it's hard to learn or rather decipher the directions. I will be an old "newbie" forever, but I'll die trying. I did get to the chat via vpisteve directions; however, thanks for the directions to the newbie IRC site. It will give me a resource to go bvack and forth to. Understanding lingo is what I need to do and that site will help. Idea
