I'm guessing you probably came up with the same answer as me. The problem is, there's a ton of listings for it. I'm wondering if there's a more obscure answer?

Wow. Some of those clues really suck.

I wouldn't think of them as clues, so much as they are keywords. The UK eBay site did a similar scavenger hunt back in December. People on another message board had some comments about how to increase the odds that you find the right item:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Go to "advanced search"

If there are only a few boxes, you need to click on 'more search options'.

Fill in the boxes as follows:

Enter keyword or item number - leave this space blank

In this category - select All Categories

Search title and description - click this box

Completed listings only - do not click this box

Exclude these words - leave this space blank

Items priced - leave these spaces blank

From specific sellers - select Exclude and enter any sellers name (you can use mine swords-sorcery-games) *

* this is the trick behind it as without this it doesn't let you do blank searches in all of the categories together. You have to go through each category individually.

Location - select Items location in United Kingdom

Currency - select Pound Sterling

Multiple item listings - leave this space blank

Show only - click on the 'Buy It Now items' box. Click on the 'Listings' box and select 'Started within' and '1 hour'

Items near me - leave this space blank

Number of bids - leave this space blank

Sort by - select 'Newly listed'

Results per page - select '200'

Finally click search and it will bring up the results. You need to click refresh to bring up new items and you're looking for a listing that doesn't have a picture or camera icon next to it. The items could go live any time during each hour. Make sure you're logged, otherwise you have to log-in when buying the item and someone could get there before you.

You can narrow it down even more by selecting 'Items listed with PayPal' in the 'Show only' section.

These hints apply to the UK game, obviously, and might have nothing to do with the current game, but I thought I would pass this info along to you, if it sparks any ideas.

Some people are doing teams.

We should do an unfiction team and if we find anything spli the winnings/donate to unfcition.

I'll certainly post anything I find here, and I think you should too.

I'm fairly certain this is the grand prize: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7301732641

There are 25 $1,000 prizes each day.

If you find the grand prize, sign in to your ebay account and "buy" the item at once!
You don't actually have to pay the price of it, it's just to make sure that you were the first to find it.

By the way, the clues have been fairly obscure. The answers to previous clues are displayed. Can anyone see a pattern?

Yes it is but it's insanley hard because most of the clues have nothing to do with the answer. Truly poor puzzlemaking.

Yeah, all that scavenger hunt did was make me angry.

The winners were not people playing the scavenger hunt, just people who happened to be looking for the item.

Oh well.
