ok, this is a frame-by-frame account of the video (well, almost frame by frame). i tried to be as correctas possible, maybe someone should double-check it.

the video is in 25 fps (frames per second), however 2 consecutive frames are always the same, indicating it was shot in 12 fps. also, the fade ins and outs are in 12fps.

It could be...
But it could also be something like "the soul cube", "the sun cube" and so on. Knowing what cube we are talking about would spoil something in the future so the PMs are leaving it for us to discover.

Not strictly true. Video framerate is 12fps - 12.02 according to both quicktime and premiere. If you're stepping through it on Premiere's timeline and you've started a 25fps project, then it will be adjusted accordingly.

Interestingly, premiere reports a single frame at 1/25s, the remainder at 52/625 - which could either an artefact from conversion from 25fps - so recorded in PAL, based on that.

Newspaper Archives

Iv been in pre game mode since back in November but phazed out till I got Sente's email.

As a lot of people are saying, its time to jump in there.

The video lists these newspapers in chronological order, and so I headed straight to archives for the times (the online archives for the international papers are a bit weak) as I am here in London. Anyone else trawled through newspaper archives for any previously placed information in the American newspapers?

I have trawled through as much newspaper archive as I can handle and there does not appear to be anything placed in the past in the way of adverts, wanted items or anything placed in the past for us to find now.

It all must be relating to future.

I am trying to be as broad as possible and not trying to go so deep that I miss the obvious. The FIREBOX advert was hardly invisible or cryptic and must have been sent in plenty of time for printing. So keep eyes on wanted adverts as well as articles etc?

Confused

did some more work on the movie - cut it up and put together different pieces, like only the video sequences, only the black parts, etc. but so far nothing showed up...

i am pretty sure the voice says "curtain". Smile (there was some debate about that)

What an awesome video to wake up to. It gives me a major Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri vibe, if any of you have played that. Classic strategy game.

I picked up USA Today on the way to school today and just got caught up with everyone else. I read the newspaper as thoroughly as I could (I'll read it a couple more times, to be sure), but it looks like the clue is in the online classifieds as well as the print, so it's not necessary ohave access to a hard copy. The only thing that caught my eye besides was the image of the three Saturns overlapping one another (the aurora article on 9D); it reminded me of a syzygy Smile

I, too, got the e-mail. At least this shows that the game is starting, we should be grateful for this much!

I'm fairly sure that the international version is available in the UK, but it looks like you won't need it.
