From the looks of things it still seems to be confined to parts of the world that've got a lot of english speakers - specifically Canada and the Hong Kong area now. Then again, I guess I could be wrong.....

EDIT: The South China Morning Post is indeed based in Hong Kong and is in English ("HK's Premier English Paper," according to the site). Classifieds seem to be here.

I actually know someone who works as an editor at the South China Morning Post. I've sent him an email asking him to track down the ad copy for us.

Personally, I'm hoping Canada Smile but the site seems down to me at the moment.

La Presse in Tunisia is a French language newspaper, as the name suggests. It would be a change for "them" to publish in a non-English language publication, right?

Hmmm, perhaps I spoke too soon about it being English-speaking areas; the link from brat-sampson doesn't seem to be working but the online version of the Canadian La Presse is here (it's called cyberpresse).

For those of you who aren't au fait (pun intended) with French, here's a Google translation that's typically weird (sample quote; ".....at the point where the White House straightforwardly decided to be sulky the Martin government").

If it is posted in the seemingly french speaking Canadian La Presse then I would imagine that the advert will appear on this page http://capresse.ca/ probably somewhere under encore plus - then again - who knows! Just so that there's a link there in case it's useful.

EDIT:
"Les annonces se trouvant dans le journal ne se retrouvent pas toutes sur le site, car les annonceurs ont deux choix, soit que leurs annonces soient publiées sur Internet ou non."
approx. The announcements that are in the newspaper aren't all on the site because the person placing the ad has to chose to either put it on the net or not. - This could mean that we need to have a tangible copy of this paper (if it gets printed in this at all)!

I had a listen and yes, when you are trying to hear "Who are you" it does sound quite like it. Although I'm not too sure that if I weren't listening for that that I'd hear that. Too hard for me to tell at the moment.

mr.immortal, you may want to unlink your email address and break it up so it's not in 'email form'... or spam-bots may have a hayday on your email account Razz Wink

curtain vs curve again

Hey

Not to dis anyone's hifi. But I prefer curve to curtain.

Reasons for bringing this up again when it seemed all sorted out.

1 The sound track is deliberately distorted for whatever stylistic reason. I think that while I can hear the curtain interpretation, minus distortion it might just have easily have started out as curve.

2. Curtain is a dumb word to use. It has way too many out of game implications

3. Curve fits very nicely with the image of the folded over space time reality (discussed/seen elsewhere, unforum Index -> ARG: Perplex City (aka Project Syzygy) -> Perplex City: General/Updates ->project syzygy, page 5).

I guess that I am putting a lot of weight on the image but when an admited PM puts something out I figure that there is a reason.

Thought this one had been laid to rest...

"the otherside of the curtain" is an established phrase and makes excellent sense in the context. It establishes the 'otherworldness' of PPC whilst implying a link, the curtain obscuring the gateway between the two (physically or metaphorically).

If you want pedigree just see the demise of a major character in Order of the Phoenix

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Sirius dies
...and passes through the curtain...literally.

Spoilered in case someone hasn't read it yet that still wants to. Smile

You could also call it the "Fourth Wall" i belive this was orignaly a TV/Hollywood industry term, ussually used... Your braking the fourth wall... It was used in Family Guy in the "Reality TV" episode and is used in PVPonline in comics like in the early Panda Attack strips... But really Curtain will do just fine...

I've also heard the term "Fourth Wall Breach" used in reference to video games when they talked to the players directly (and creepily), for example when Psycho Mantis reads your mind in MGS. I guess ARGs are the mother of all 4th wall breaches.

Not to mention that every MiSTing ever seems to include some sort of fourth wall comment. MST3K had no fourth wall to break, and a lot of fanfic authors are bad about keeping theirs intact.

For those who haven't already heard the term, the "fourth wall" is the wall that would exist between you and the characters. Instead, it opens off the set to where the camera and crew are. The characters are supposed to pretend that they're in a normal room with no veiwers. If they look at the camera and talk to you, they acknowledge that they are, in fact, in a three-walled set. That's what it means for the fourth wall to be broken.
