I think perhaps we found it too soon - and so they're still building it.

I don't know... the /images folder wasn't public yesterday, was it? Why make it public now? Maybe I'm overanalyzing it, but it seems like they are nudging us towards logging in: "hey, look, this thing works; and once you log in, you'll be able to see someone's inbox with juicy new messages, and a sent folder, and a trash folder etc."
That said, I've tried countless combinations of l/p for Neil, and Pandora/Rebecca Night in different formats, too: xxxSPLAT slumberil.com, xxxSPLAT zmail.slumberil.com, and just plain xxx - all to no avail. Sadness.

That's all I'm saying.
It's fun to figure this one out.

Entering the username "neil" and any password gives a 302 response back to index.php instead of a 200.

So does "pandora". That means "neil" and "pandora" are probably valid user names.

Where did you get the other two passwords?
Edit: Nevermind. Sent mail is your friend.

A few of the e-mails are in there have been sent in by players and not characters - since I was one of the first few (from what I've seen) in I know which were ours and which were theirs. We have sent 2 e-mails to Schlaf from Quinn, blaiming Neil - whether this was the right thing to do or not - we don't know.

Seems like all the mail "we" -- the players -- have sent are dated 1/9/99 at 00:01. That should be able to tell us if we did stuff.
I still disagree with doing stuff to begin with, though.

Oh, neat. Maybe we should send another with evidence of his stegging activities?
Heh, I wonder what'll happen when quinn comes in and goes, "huh, I don't remember sending those!"
Also, I tried to delete something (a test e-mail) and was told that deleting was disabled during the audit period, and that my IP address was logged for investigation.
[Edit] Oh, I suppose this explains the e-mails in Neil's trash folder, right?

Interesting. Is Greg's "Pandora Device" e-mail similarly bogus? How about the dialogue between Quinn and his wife(?)?
Edit: Nevermind again.

Subject: ZaiMail Vulnerability Warning
Valued ZaiMail Customer,
It has recently come to our attention that a flaw in the current release build of ZaiMail (build 0101) causes system instability on servers when too many messages are sent or received by the system while in audit mode.
Our engineers are currently working on a patch to resolve this issue. Until said patch is ready for distribution, we suggest you try to limit send/receive transactions on any servers running ZaiMail in audit mode. Failure to do so could result in catastrophic system instability and data loss.
We will inform you when the patch is ready for installation. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Regards,
ZaiServer Systems
Technical Support Dept.
New e-mail in Neil's inbox... probably theirs - though sent today.

Gaahh, it's a mess now. And Neil'll see that people have found his stegs. Darn. Although, in hindsite, the press release is pretty funny.
Incidentally, what possible reason could Neil have for blatantly hinting at his e-mail password like that? I assume he was the one who added the binary code. Problems with the zmail will just get him in more trouble.
