I do, Omniflux. I'm also expecting it to spawn around 13 pages of wild spec of the "do you think the cube is really an AQUATIC BIOLOGICAL ELEMENT?!" kind. Wink

I walked through Penn Station last night, and up 7th, then Broadway. Finally found a newsstand in Times Square that carries it. Then I found out that they're a day behind. Guess I'll swing by today and find out they've sold out of them.

Caution, wild speculation:

When I saw Seej's mention of 1825
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=125743&highlight=1825#125743
I browsed around to see what momentous events occurred in 1825 and one that caught my eye was that Samuel Pepys diaries were first published.

I forgot this for a while, until browsing through the times yesterday for the PPC ad and noticed that (on the opposite page) it was his birthday.

simply stating for posterity's sake, will see if there's anything else.

Heh, I think I'll take that one with a pinch of salt for now Mikey Smile

As for the trout ad speculation:
Marduk wrote:
.......I would think, since Adrian Hon is known to be AGAINST opening the curtain for any reason, that this ad was taken out by an overeager Syzygy fan looking to get a laugh or two. I haven't heard a single good reason to think the Syzygy team has anything to do with the Trout ad.

What about this?

Yes, the trout ad could be the PMs, or it could be a fan³, but really, is there actually any information to get out of it? No - it's just a rewording of the first ad and clearly meant as a joke. Can we please just laugh at it and drop it now? Smile

EDIT: To clarify my reasons for not agreeing with Mikey's spec, I got that number from a binary interpretation of the pattern of blackouts in the video that did and didn't have a newspaper mentioned. Since this has changed the number you'd get has also changed from 1825. Oh well - it was a good idea Mikey......

thanks if its available.

the one on the wiki is just from the online version. I dont think anyone ever managed to get hold of a physical copy of it.

Isn't it the 28th in Australia? Anyone there have a copy of the Daily Telegraph they can check? The online classifieds are from the 26th.

The ads for the 28th are 'live' just nothing new in 'lost/found'..either there is a delay in updating the online ads (?) or it is in another section of the classifieds. I'm guessing there are lots of us searching as the site keeps crashing!

The classifieds.news.com.au website is a generic classifieds site that all the Murdoch newpapers use. I wouldn't be surprised if the print version was different. I'll go looking for the print version at lunch but someone in Sydney will get one easier than me.

Looked through online ads....

Couldn't find anything in the online ads. If you search through the classifields you can limit the search to Daily Telegraph. I did that and looked through all the ads that were placed today. Nothing. I see three possibilities
1) Not updated yet
Doesnt seem to likely as there definetly are ads for the 28'th already up. However the amount of ads posted to the Daily telegraph was very low, so that makes me think that ....
2) The print version classifieds are different than the online ones
Very well could be. Gubble said he could try to pick up a paper at lunch, I definetly think that is a good idea
3) The ad didn't make it in today's paper ala New York Sun
I think this could be a possibility because if you look at when the ads are posted online you will notice that nothing was posted yesterday. I take this to mean that there were no classifieds yesterday. if the PM's tried to get there ad posted yesterday the offices may have been closed or not accepting ads for the next day.

Anyways there's my two cents worth

Here's the paper copy of the ad as follows

notes on the ad: wierd spaces next to the word 'using'. (edit, tried to give you an idea of the spaces, but the board 'fixes' it.)
It's probably a coincedence, but the ad was on page 42
