except that uk numbers aren't 7 digits but 11 (inc the 0 at the beginning).

i was just thinking of 01366 - what area is it for
norfolk. where they do have their own moddey dhoo 'black shuck'.
don't think that'll take us anywhere though.

My 2cents:

We have to place the most precious first... so I was thinking butterfly first because it's souls they're after so that's pretty damn precious. Then I thought back to the little symbols used on all the related pages... i.e.

Sable+Shuck - a shuck is a black dog, so the first symbol should be dog
(in no particular order other than the way I remember finding them)
Pathway travel - Raven
Trident Air - Trident
Inferno Cargo - Fire
(then I sort of get lost... if you goto www.marlowedigital.com/index2.html you get a list of the companies that marlowe digital has been involved with I can find the snake (Ophis) but this isn't a site of any sorts that I could find, and I couldn't find a butterfly.)

As for what symbol is what... here's my 50cents....

1: Fire
2: Dog
3: Trident
4: Raven
5: Serpent
6: Butterfly

Feel free to trout or call me a fool!!

EDIT: Trout once again by all means but I was just thinking... number to pictures the way they go into the grid... therefore the 6 digit number that you get is not the number you have to ring

What i don't get it why would they have you do double work- order the guys on the grid and then type the order you put them in in the boxes?

Trees

Trees

i know everyone is thinking hard about this puzzle so don't want to throw in a red herring but...

upon googling the signs, there is a site which includes them all and I'm sure someone else has already discovered this as there arn't that many sites which come up as a result on google.

Rowan tree - jan 21 - feb 27
(related to brigid)
Fire/Flame

Ash Tree - Feb 18- Mar 17
Trident

Willow Tree - April 15 - May 12
Serpent

Ivy Tree - sept 30 - Oct 27
Butterfly

Reed Tree - Oct 28 - Nov 24
Hound (Dog) (but it's a white one though!)

Elder Tree - Nov 25 - Dec 22
Raven

I haven't got a clue whether this is significant or whether the dates referred to somehow tie in with the horoscope

... the horoscope does seem important though, as all the clues so far have been issued around zodiacal calendar, and the current horoscope for Pisces on the Hornchurch Star says
Quote:
Fate sees you reading the works of Johann Von Goethe.

and apparently from other posts on this forum, Goethe's work "Faust" also refers to all the 6 signs on Walpurgis Night....

as yoosh, just TOL .... and have also tried loadsa permutations on the grid which don't work

i do think though that the correct sequence should feature the Fibonacci Spiral ( I never thought I would be using sentences with "Fibonacci Spiral" in - nearly makes me feel clever)

my humble opinion:

I think the numbers indeed will be the fibionacci sequence on the webcam#8, starting with the symbol next to the star and ending with the largest one, seems logical to me.

However, i don't see any clue for the placement of the symbols.

I read posts about similarities with the six signs, but i don't see any. How do you determine wich symbol stands for wich sign?

I do get the link you make between six symbols and six signs, wich i do find logical, but i don't see anything that has any meaning in the symbols from the grid.

i also find it very strange that we don't have any news about jon, or any leads on finding bridgids true identity. I wish we would get some clues about the real questions of the game. Now we just got more questions, but no answers, we know bridgid found Jon BUT WHAT HAPPENED???!!!

REAL GLAD something happened though Cool

Hi Tinneke9,

am not sure if I understand your post correcty but are you askingwhich symbol relates to which sign?

if so, this is only my interpretation (and if wrong someone please tell me coz i have obviously been using wrong symbols!!)

but left to right when you see the symbols when you first open puzzle...

Fire Hound Trident Raven Serpent Butterfly

only coz that's what each symbol looks like

i would appreciate it though if a few people could confirm if this is also their understanding so we all know what we are working with

About the phonenumber that's to be found:
I'm not from England, so my question is, is there in England (like the '06-' in the Netherlands) a number that indicates a mobile? Because my thought was that every telephone number we found ingame was a mobile-number. It's easier to find, or even buy a number that you choose. Like those PM's could have easily bought a mobile with fib.seq.based number.. In the Netherlands, there is a possibility for something like that. But not with home-phone-numbers.. In that case we don't have to search for area-codes... do we?

@ tinneke:

When in the grid, use the Zoom function from the context menu of the flash plugin your browser uses. Once you take a closer look at the symbols, you suddenly will recognize parts of the 6 signs... only that part has been duplicated 5 times by a kaleidoscope effect in a image editing utility.

I recon that once you do this you'll agree with us that the symbols (from left to right) are:

1: Fire
2: Dog
3: Trident
4: Raven
5: Serpent
6: Butterfly

Cheers, Slowzone

... think, the clue for the placement of the symbols i find in Faust..

i search the symbol words....

bird.........in III/3
snake......in prologue/3
flame......in prologue 1,or I/1
butterfly...in I/13
black dog..in I/24
spear........in I/22

read first in Faust

after take in this order to the place the symbols...forward ,after backward....and write the fibonacci numbers under the symbols like this order...
but not good....just the same answer..."Your recommendations are not correct"...
i'm not sure....the symbols is not obvious for me....i recognize the snake, the dog,the butterfly, the raven..but the spear and fire is not obvious..
possible,just for me...

If you enter Jon's contract number on the Sable Shuck site to enter the conclusion puzzle, a message appears stating that it is
Quote:
an invalid contract number
and
Quote:
The individual subject to this contract number no longer walks among us
So I don't think we have to wonder what happened to Jon Crying or Very sad

If U watch the promo before U try to solve the Grid Puzzle, You'll hear the voice of "Brigid" in the background. So Brigid was in fact working for S&S all the time. (Surprised?) No need to go and try to find out more about her. Twisted Evil

Cheers, Slowzone

Please, for anyone who still thinks the numbers used are Fibonnaci, they aren't.
That is assuming that we make them into a spiral, but i think we are all agreed, we have to. As according to the webcam image 8, with the topright sign being 13, topleft 8 and so on, with the one above the star being 1, it doesnt work.
So we can officially drop that ok?
I just hate to see us going backwards.

I think the two clues we have to go on are:

1) The worth of a thing is what it will bring.
and
2)Go back to the begining.

I think it is safe to say Brigid has been with S+S all along, if it wasnt obvious before then it sure is now!

hey guys. just wanted to say hey and im working on this and i have no idea Smile just glad the games back up and running. i think faust has to be the key, because of the goethe reference, i think fibonnacci is key because the golden ration is used and we can make a spiral, i think that we will get another clue before we solve this. if anything jumps out i'll be back.

laters.

I have seen this as well..I believe in all of my readings between today and a few days ago this represents the Celtic Horoscope/Calender. Also has to do with Wiccan beliefs. I couldn't make heads or tails of it though in relation to the grid and what we have to do with it Confused

More about Brigid

Speaking of finding out more of Brigid, I went through the guestbooks on the Pathway Travel site to find out if I could find an entry similar to Brigid's writing.

And I did. Her handwriting is very distinct and different from the rest in all 5 guestbooks. And guess where I found it? That's right, Grey Lodge, Devil's Island. Look for yourself; the entry is:

"I had been hoping to visit the Black Lodge, but North America is so inclement at this time of year. I am extremely glad that I came here though. One hundred blessings." - copied exactly as written

I googled "Black Lodge" AND "devil" and found a bunch of seemingly useful info. Could be useful.

There is another one, also from Devil's Island guestbook, that looks like it could be an alternative match:

"I particularly enjoyed visiting the home of the legendary trident air. The air at 48 06N, 09 854W is extremely refreshing." (although I'm not sure about the 854W thing).

Something else I wanted to bring up, odd about Brigid's signature, is the constant use of "xxx" (24 24 24). I wonder if that's something, but probably not.
