the numbers on the grid could easily show the telephone number, here's how:

we have six boxes, and each box can take two alphanumeric characters.
that makes 12 numbers in total.
uk numbers range from 11 to 14 digits.

example:
(020)8 13 51236 could be a london number

or even

0207 123 4567 could be a london number

or even

01324 123 4567 could be a berkshire number

the possibilities are endless.

'the telephone number will appear' is what it says, and that does not rule out the numbers we enter into the boxes actually being the number we have to call.

lots o' work

tried this combinations, with the spiral complete, but no succes:

from big to small: raven, trident, snake, flame, butterfly, dog, with the number combinations resp: 1,2,3,4,5,6 & 6,5,4,3,2,1 & 1,2,3,5,8,13 & 2,3,5,8,13,21 & 13,8,5,3,2,1 & 21,13,8,5,3,2

and, from big to small: dog, butterfly, flame, snake, trident, raven, with the combinations: 1,2,3,4,5,6 & 6,5,4,3,2,1 & 1,2,3,5,8,13 & 2,3,5,8,13,21 & 13,8,5,3,2,1 & 21,13,8,5,3,2

i can only take the conclusion that the order jon gives, is not the order S&S wants to see.

well, this was my hour of not working today.....

Meak might have been onto something saying that the numbers we put in the box might be the number we have to ring.

Take the fib. sequence 1,2,3,5,8,13 and write it like this 01,02,03,05,08,13 as each box accepts 2 characters.

After a quick search of UK dialing codes the only code which could be made from the numbers is 01130 which is a code for Leeds in West Yorkshire.

So arranging the numbers we could get (01130)2030508 which might be a valid UK phone number, where the Flame symbol is always 1 and the Dog is always 13.

This narrows down the combinations to just 24, but after putting them all in the grid none of them worked.

The boxes accept Alphanumeric characters so who is to say that what we put in the boxes are numbers and not letters?
Maybe there are more clues still to come from the PM's, after all we do have until the end of June.

off course i always thought bridgid was in on S&S, but i find it sad that we don't get an explenation, for How Jon no longer walks amoung us. Maybe Later on in the game, i mean, i always had a pretty vivid picture, about what was happening in the game. Now it's getting a bit vague.

Anyways, thanks for clearing up how you guys linked the signs with the symbols, i was really lost on that one..

I do think indeed that there will be more clues to how to solve the grid, seen that the possibilities are infinite.

I 'll keep trying though Smile

hmmm it seems we're all assuming jons dead, but surely it was jons soul the devil was after, not necessarily his life? maybe hes still alive but managed to free his soul with the help of the book of star. and maybe thats why he doesnt "walk among us" any more (us = eg the devil and the sold souls).

I'm not sure if any of you are trying this, I might have misunderstood all the posts but I think the order for putting the symbols on the grid is the order Jon gave us twice. I think the value we assign each symbol has nothing to do with it's place on the grid.

Jon mentions the symbols twice, in exactly the same order. I think we could assume that's a clue. Otherwise the possibilities are ridiculously large. If we assume the order is set for us then all we need to work on is the value (preciousness) of each symbol.

Puzzle

Somebody started to touch on this, but never completed it. 1 and 01 would not be the same number. It is possible that the fib number sequence is 01 02 03 05 08 13.

I was thinking along the lines of,
the symbols are

1.fire
2.dog
3.trident
4.raven
5.snake
6.butterfly

Maybe the clue is in the description jon gives us of each sign, on hewalksamoungus. As i read them, in each description he mentions how far they are from him as signs of his presence.

snake : the man in black, who is the serpent incarnate [01]
dog : he can transform himself into a huge dog, at will [02]
raven : ravens are his familiars, his eyes and ears in the world [03]
fire : fire shall follow him wherever he walks [05]
trident : never far from the man in black,... [08]
butterfly : he is shunned by these creatures. they will not tolerate him[13]

no such luck, but i'm triyng Smile

I guess it depends. If I were to find the solution (which I seriously doubt cuz I hate putting those little things in the spiral and get easily annoyed) I've already promised to give the # to a UK resident. But after I was sure that person submitted the answer, I would more than likely post here. But, I think I'd have a better chance getting eaten by rabid ferrets than finding the solution, so it's a moot point anyway. Very Happy

Hi guys !

I must go and don't have time to look at it, but i reckon that the figures at the LOCATIONS http://www.sableshuck.com/theLocations.php on the S&S site might be connected.

Please note that there is a questiong hanging there : "How did you find us ? "

regards.
