I'm not sure that I've seen all suggestions and efforts to solve this puzzle. I just hope that I'm not repeting some old (and futile) idea.

The pattern discussion is interesting but still I'd like to try something else... Please stop me if I'm trying to reinvent the wheel....

The suggestion is to create the "modulo z23 multiplication" and compere it with the puzzel.

Then collect the figures in the z23 occupying same the positions as some symbol i the puzzle for example "eyes". The resulting numbers might generate a new code that is solveable with letter substitution. The z23 will probably not generate figures from 0 to 25 but probably enough figures to write a message.

My modulos math are too poor so my efforts to create the z23 were in vain. If someone has calculated it please post the result so I can try this idea.
