Oh goody, i get first solve!

I solved the puzzle.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
So basically, I decided that if they were all letters, my numbers had to be upside down, figuring that a new bar would start when the next letter came before the previous letter. My way had the opposite. So flipping the numbers vertically (really just 27-X), I get:
20, 5, 19, 20, 2, 5, 7, 9, 14, 19, 19, 9, 24, 20, 25, 20, 8, 18, 5, 5, 20, 21, 18, 14, 19, 4, 15, 15, 13, 5, 4, 13, 15, 15 ,14
Assigning the numbers to the 26 letter alphabet and adding spaces where appropriate you get

test begins: sixty three turns doomed noon

I have no idea what it means. In fact... damn it, this isn't helpful at all. I added the colon as well, it seemed to make sense there.

I got it on my first try! I'm so gosh darn clever.

EDIT 1 - post to correct first mistake I found
EDIT 2 - There is still a mistake in the post, read below.

wtg, deadman! Just wondered if that could be moon instead of noon? Phobos is suppose to be a doomed moon....in a few million years that is. If this is a test of some sort, Phobos could be the answer there, but no idea what 63 turns could mean.

This must be the same kind of graffiti that Monet Dabney was complaining about. I wonder if we can get him to post pictures as well.

just looked at the numbers again... it is moon.

13, 15, 15, 14
M O O N

Could the 63 turns mean revolutions? maybe it means 63 revolutions and the moon is doomed. Checked and Phobos seems to revolve around Mars about 3x per day.

If this is it we have untill about March 30th before something happenes... or it could be something else all together... guess we wait and see.

good sovle deadman! as for moons, Jupiter has 63 "satellites". But Phobos turns once every 7 hours, or 0.3191 days, so in (edits) 20.1 days the test should start.

Thanks for spell check

Thanks for correcting the noon - moon thing. I was also gonna say the start versus end thing... we probably want to prevent the moon from being destroyed, maybe it's a deadline. The test has already begun (it said test begins!), and we have 63 turns to solve it.

Doomed moon = phobos

It's definitly Phobos they are talking about. As you guys have already pointed out the doomed moon is Phobos, as it is commonly refered to. It will eventually fall into Mars in about 100 million years since it's orbit is decaying. Or it's possible it will clapse from stress due to gravity distortions before then. It rotates around Mars in less than 8 hours as was already said. I'm using 8 hours, so that's 21 days. We can expect more in three weeks on this line. Ick.

EDIT: More accurate time is 7.7 hours * 63 = 20.2 days. From the day the pic was released, that's March 30th.

EDIT: Sometimes I think I sound like a fool, and I am forced to change the past so you never know. Dang, now I just told you.
