Hey just checked the forum after yesterdays epic jouney. A good time was had by all I feel. It is also nice to read the pages and pages of spec by people who weren't there, on the majority of the traffic that passed by. PS most of the motorcyclists in yellow vests were domino's pizza delivery guys, or that is how it seemed. It's also good to see that for about two hours of that "spec" time, the guys in london were happily sitting in the pub quaffing (always wanted to type that word) fine ale, and discussing what we'd been given.

Abbey Road shakycam (mirror) [10.9Mb]
I've hosted a mirror on my site, just in case Bruce's craps out.

Very Happy Excellent footage and superior effort!
Very Happy Thank you both for collaberating here, and thanks to all who were able to attend and collect information!
Very Happy We apppreciate your taking the time to transcribe the clues. It was a great effort in a crunch situtation and you kicked typo ass, & video-taped it to boot!

I went to Abbey Road on Saturday and made it there with minutes to spare due to the Jubilee Tube Line being partially closed for repairs. I was assured this would only add 40 minutes to my journey but one 90 minute journey later, on a noisy, cramped, smelly old bus, I arrived at the monument in Abbey Road on the most glorious day of the year so far. Imagine my excitement when I walked round the monument, at noon, and found the following clue (pic attached). It was great to meet the rest of the people that turned up, a very resourceful, friendly and dedicated bunch. Hope we get to meet again.

aye, well I guess I made the mistake of thinking typical crossword puzzle Razz
it still just irks me that in a single crossword they'd put a clue and the answer as an anagram together in the same clue... seems redundant IMO, but I digress. If we already have the answer then that's what matters anyway Smile

It's only redundant if you know that "on stock market" is the clue part and "exec hangs" is an anagram and "ruined" is the part that lets you know it's an anagram. That's the devilishness of a cryptic crossword.

There's a puzzle that appears frequently in Games magazine in which three phrases are given, each pointing to one phrase that is the answer. One of the clue phrases is an anagram, one has the same consonant/vowel pattern, and the other has the same first letter(s) as the answer. The puzzle would be easy if you knew which one was which, but the challenge is figuring that out. The same applies for the cryptic crossword.
