[CROSSPOST][PRESS] Liberation (FR)

Le Grand Jeu - March 19th

It's in French, but looks to mention PC with nice links to unfiction and other game resources.

EDIT: Translated to English

Oh great. They had to write about the Abbey Road thing. I forsee something similar to the CD Giveaway in ILB, when random folk showed up and claimed them all before the players arrived.

you know, that's an interesting discussion point...

could media popularity spell the downfall of traditional args?
in the sense that, anything in the player world is public knowledge, so in-game if something is supposed to be a secret, or covert or something, the media could very well ruin that element of the game if they continue to post game info and events to the very public non-arg world...

what effect could this have on the future of how players play ARGs? Could it even get to the point that any ARG wanting to retain its playable integrity may require everyone to maintain a user or login in order to gain access to the arg, disclaiming that media reps are not permitted? hope not... but there's no telling how naive any reporter may be out there in the real world, and not respect arg 'etiquette' about not revealing that kind of info (like the Abbey Road rendezvous)

I don't think ARGs are quite that doomed. If the media becomes a big element, PMs will learn to work with it, and expect that some people will find certain things out that way. I think ARGs have the potential to be very adaptable. Though it would get annoying if this suddenly became huge and trendy, and the weird cultish team atmosphere vanished.

the press will handle it like it ussually does- capture as much of the popularity wave as possible, and snuff out whatever life it can. when arg = $$$ and cash only, then you have to worry. but for now most of them are busy with michael jackson, so no worries eh? Rolling Eyes

sidenote: how bad are those reinactments of 'courttime' on E.....

You say that like this isn't one really overblown commercial anyway.
