http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/

I came upon this the other day and thougt it might be well placed here. It explains it well on the page:

Quote:
This is a creative graphical puzzle divided into 15 stages. Each stage comes with a digital image that contains text that allows you to get to the next stage.

I'm at Level 5, so here's all the solves up to that:

Stage 1

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This should be pretty obvious. rsvt.htm is faded behind the house, so type http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/rsvt.htm to get to the next level.

Stage 2

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Another easy one (the last one that poses no special challenge). You can see that tykca.htm is separated from the rest of the jumbled text, so Stage 3 is at http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/tykca.htm

Stage 3

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This one I found especially neat. It's one of those 'magic eye' 3D pictures where you must cross your eyes (or however you want to do it) to 'overlap' the image on itself to make it look 3D. Anyway, if you can't seem to get it (some people can't), it shows o.htm making the next stage at http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/o.htm

Stage 4

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Here's where it gains a little difficulty. In this one, you must copy the image into a painting program and fill the background with a different colour (other than white, anyway) to reveal the text pylc.htm
http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/pylc.htm

And this is where I'm stuck. Maybe you guys will have more luck?

*neopuff34 bets that there's going to be a stegged image in there somewhere...*

Stage 6:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
you must open the image it's referencing (http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/sumpkult/image6.jpg); and so the next one is syyk.htm

Stage 7:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This one took me a while - I kept trying all kinds of combinations of /klubbin and /mukki with .jpg, and .htm, until I got to http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/mukki.htm

For some reason, I can't make this happen in Firefox. Saw it in IE though.

Well, they do say "Please use Internet Explorer when viewing the puzzle!" Smile

The only thing I noticed is that if you start to read it backwards you get

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Besides, that it seems to be a gif, that's renamed to jpg nothing special.
Tried some manipulation and looked, if there's an animation-set in it, if you rename it, but to no avail.
No information in the file, nor anything, if you open it in wordpad.

I'm wondering if there's some sort of link between the word "lame" and the "lime" color sheme?

Re: level 8

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Apparently if you manipulate this pic in Photoshop you can find the answer by taking out the blue pixels in the picture. Don't ask me what this means, since I don't know how to use Photoshop to save my life. But you can find out more info from the people who are playing along here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ozy_y2k/120089.html

I can't seem to make that work. I can sort of see the outline of something, but no distinct text.

Stage 10:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It tells you to go to http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/hvk.htm , dunno what's up with the text at the bottom

Stage 11:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The letters are transparent so they appear pink. View the image without the pink background. http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/nybjcy.htm

Stage 12:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Look at it carefully.. the bar is a very thick I, and there's a very thin L on the left border.. http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/LI.htm

Stage 13:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
from top to bottom it reads IOV http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/IOV.HTM

Stage 14:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Things are not what they seem to be.. for example the Q is actually an O followed by a dot. It reads IVVVO http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/IVVVO.HTM

And finally (If you used the spoilers try doing the last one on your own...

Stage 15:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Play with the color table, change the first 15 whites to another color and you get http://www.etienne.nu/imagepuz/kelxly.htm

Which will take you to the code series of puzzles..
