The PPC Sentinel

Going to post this here since the PPC Sentinel updates threads seem more in-game.

I'm thinking the Sentinel, as mentioned elsewhere, is for PM/player communications. It's how our PMs "talkback" to us and give feedback to our progress and specs. For instance, we endlessly spec over what a "key" is and in the next edition of the Sentinel we get so many clues as to what it is (and what it's not).

Sente's efforts seem a thinly disguised parallel to the PM's progress at putting out the Game -- with the accompanying biting criticism echoing our own "outrage" at the pace. Thankfully, it also chronicles details as to the delays (server malfunctions, etc.).

Another bump in the process seems to be this "security leak" -- if I'm right and this Internet game results in a treasure hunt for an actual Cube (with monetary reward), the trial stories seem to be accusing a certain PM of cheating, or taking bribes from an outside player:

The Sentinel wrote:
Marron refused to speculate over any consequences, should the unnamed jurist prove to be guilty of accepting bribes.

No criminal cases have been declared a mistrial in the city since 175 AC, when jurist Latrell Korn was found guilty of reporting secret deliberations to the press for monetary consideration during the Ghona Hesh trial.

Similar parallels can be drawn about forbidding "cognitive enhancers" in game play: that is, not relying on insider information...

We are also encouraged to directly correspond (in game-speak, of course) our own opinons and feedback via the email addys provided. Perhaps we should start using this to our advantage rather than relying on PMs to cruise the boards?
