Actually its very common in the UK to use the word "call" to mean contact, so it not necessarliy means telephone.

I see that the email address for classifieds hasn't changed in HTML (email displayed is @perplexcity.com but links to @perplexcitysentinel.com). Anyone else getting a creepy feeling?

April Fool's is coming up...

Too elaborately made. If it is an April Fool's Joke, they deserve it for all the hard work they put into it. But I don't think it is.

And don't jinx us! Shocked

Thank you for your interest in reprints from the Perplex City Sentinel!

Unfortunately, the Sentinel has a strict policy disallowing the purchase of
reprints from foreign entities. We apologize for any inconvenience this may
cause you.

It is unusual to see apologise spelt apologiZe in the UK. It's quite an old-fashioned way of spelling, and also is used widely in the USA.

Maybe interesting.

Has anyone thought of using an E-mail address spoofer to get in touch? Perhaps if Sente or Diane asked for a reprint for the Academy we'd have more luck.

I sent the following email to classifiedsSPLATperplexcitysentinel.com.
Quote:
Dear Sir or Madam:

I would like to place an Ad in your classifieds section, however my
key is not presently functioning. I have contacted KSI about this,
but since the pending merger they don't seem to be paying much
attention. My advertisement is time sensitive. Is there some method I
can use to place this ad? Thank you
for your time.

Sincerely,
Foz

Embarassed Centrifuge already bought KSI....Anyway....

I received the same email as the advertisement reply in this thread. I then forwarded this email to classifiedsSPLATperplexcity.com. It has not bounced back yet (it's been 5 minutes). I'll edit this post if it nets anything.

[Edit]
- Also forwarded to Sente with the message: "Having trouble with doors." Replied with same autoresponder.

i'm from the UK, i don't recall ever using the word call to mean contact other than through the telephone.

A thought just hit me. This was a necessary update because we didn't spot the fact that we should point our key to "news at perplexcitysentinel.com."

= news @ perplexcitysentinel.com

We missed that the first time. How dumb were we?

Actually, we tried all of them on IRC the first day, and they all bounced back - "undeliverable". I don't think we ever posted it though. Confused

I probably should have.

I sent this letter today, to "lettersATperplexcitysentinelDOTcom"
That sexy, sexy Dorkmaster dude wrote:
Personally, I see the fear developing between those in your realm and
that of Earth, especially, within the cubist sect. While I have only
recently learned of your existence, I find it hard to believe that
your people can be so elitist to think that people of Earth could be
so single-minded and evil as to steal a religious and social artifact
such as the Receda Cube. While everyone I know is attempting to bring
the Cube back to Acacdemy possession, you publish stories accusing
"Earth" of stealing it for some nefariously unknown purpose. Well I,
for one, am outraged. Since we on Earth only recently discovered the
existence of our brothers and sisters in Perplex City, we have been
dilligently working to find your Cube, and return it safely. We have
no motivation to steal something which we cannot see, much less
manipulate to our own ends... But even if some evil soul somehow came
to Perplex City, somehow knew about the Ball at the Academy, and also
somehow knew that the security was more lax, (as some have stated,)
and THEN continued to steal the Cube and hide it on Earth... That
would STILL be only one person (or perhaps a skilled group) that would
have this motive and plan. To publish an editorial that could
possibly state that "Earth" is responsible in any way, as opposed to
just a few individuals is ego-centric at best, and at worst, utterly
false in its entirety. I enjoy getting to know others from the
Academy and otherwise, but I have to admit, I am already leery of how
I may be perceived, just from one single encounter. Shame on you,
Sentinel, for giving a broad voice to these views!

-DM (From Earth)

EDIT: Got the same reply as anyone else who wrote to "letters". But I expected that... just curious to see if this plays out later.
