While we're on the subject, could you please change your avatar to one that is less than 20 kb in size? The 80 px x 80 px dimensions are fine, the 138.47 KB (141796 bytes) total size is not.
Thanks very much.
EDIT - Avatar changed

I agree with better. Not everyone needs to have an avatar.

Does this mean if I remove the avatar from my website, it won't show up on unforum anymore? I had thought that there might be another reason for not getting them from your hard drive--like you know they were viable on the web or something. In retrospect, that is kind of a dumb idea, I guess, but I hadn't realized it was a storage issue--that's what I'm assuming is the reason.
If the removal of an avatar from the site it is linked to means that you won't have an image anymore, could we include this information in the little blurb when you go to post your avatar? I mean, I may have been dumb on this question, but there's at least the possibility that someone else may be as dumb as I am on this one.
I swear, I like learning something new every day, but sometimes, the new thing I learn does tend to make me feel like an ass (in the British sense of the word).

I find my Avatar amusing, but do you think it will offend? I will remove it if you think it violates TOS. Thanks

You need to post it to an image hosting site, like photobucket, or have it on the web at least. Then you link that location in the avatar control panel.

Now, my avatar suddenly disappeared. What's up with that?

Sometimes, free avatar/image hosting is unreliable. Your avatar was located at http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/7595/natasavatarfv4.jpg (and that's where your forum profile is still trying to get an image from), but now that returns a 404 error, so it looks like imageshack has let you down in that respect.
The solution is to upload your image again, either at imageshack or somewhere else, and point your profile to the new location.

Having a small issue.
I want to change the image for my avatar, but when I try to change the link, I receive the message: The URL of the remote image is not valid.
I tested the link directly in a web browser and it shows up fine. The image is in my own hosted account.
Here is the image link: http://www.pyronite.com/magogr.bmp

You should convert the image to a JPG or GIF (perhaps PNG may work too) - a BMP file isn't really a web-friendly image, it's not standard for inline images (like avatars, for example), thus most places won't allow it.

Thanks, theBruce. A .gif worked fine.
