Forgive me if this has already been uncovered, but I've done a few searches and didn't find the answer (possibly as much to do with several shoddy attempts at finding the right search phrase as anything else): has anyone said how the Cube actually got to earth? If it's been stolen by someone; yet no one is able to get over here, has it been teleported over without it's captor?

This is one of the rare cases where a search doesn't produce an answer because there isn't one. Nobody knows yet, and I have a feeling that figuring this out is one of the prime "goals" of the game. Thanks for searching before asking, btw!

I tried doing a bit of searching, cause im sure sum1 must of said this b4, but couldn't find (was kinda a hard thing to search 4).

The sentinel says that the cube was stolen on Jan 15 2004 and that Fran Mendling was killed right. But in the errorlog archives dated "06-Oct-2004 13:21" it seems to have Fran greeting and letting Tanner in at Gatehouse 24.

Sorry if my thinking is off, but isn't 6th Oct 2004 kinda after 15th Feb 2004. Isn't Fran already dead at this time. Am i just crazy/stupid?

The file timestamp is unlikely to be when the excerpt was made (note the timestamp in the file of 07:44:12) but when it was uploaded (hence the similar file times in the directory). I don't believe we have any way of finding a date for the errorlog's content.

[SPEC] Motive for the theft?

As far as I know, we don't really seem to have considered: WHY would someone steal the cube? I mean, it may have some intrinsic value, but as they said, you could never sell it, as it's too well known... It doesn't seem like something any Perplexian would do... Could it be that someone from Earth DID steal the cube and we are meant to track them down? But then again, Mending was killed with a Neuro Surpressant device, which points to the killer being either a Perplexian, or someone familiar with their technology... What do you think?

Means, Motive, Opportunity.

Maybe we could set up a matrix of people/factions/syndicates that have some or all of the above for stealing the cube.

Just a thought from someone who can't keep up with all the (mis)directions and rouge tinted herrings being thrown at us.

Sam
