I don't think Eelandcucumberoll(+s?) is an anagram. Read my last post on page 3... it seems to have correspondences with the postcard number. And nobody ever goes back to read posts, so I doubt it'll be heavily noticed without me saying so.

has *anything* been an anagram in this game?"Exchange" is the only one i know of. and then it came with several clues on use and context.

fFor an element which has had almost no use, people sure do talk about it a lot!

i doubt the ascendancy point is a space elevator.
they dont mass enough to effect a planet gravitationally.
also, 2210 in base 3 is 75 in base 10. that worked out nice and evenly. also, hororscopes often give dating advice. perhaps telling someone to go to third base?

Connection between PCBC and city council

Camryn Scott is the leader of the city council.
Trip Scott is possibly the new CEO of PCBC.

Related?

Looking at Alex Smith posted back on page three, after accounting for all the letters in "eelandcucumberroll", there are six numbers left in the 24-digit number from the postcard, 503215. I think Futures #2-7 (Spider - 3 Balls) might be clues for the letters that match up with those six digits. Three of those futures seem to point to letters pretty clearly - Spider = s, 0.5 Jug = o, Dragon = i. I'm not so clear on the other three. I think future #8 (Dice) is saying that we should send the enswer to the personals email address. I can only guess that the rest of the futures offer advice for what to do with the email you get in response to sending the correct answer to the personals email.

Not that my ideas don't have any holes. I have no idea how to go from eel and cucumber rolls + 5 or 6 letters to figuring out what the answer to the puzzle is. And some of the futures lead me to think that the futures puzzle may be completely different from what I've described so far (though the fit of "eelandcucumberroll" to the 24-digit number seems too good to ignore), so I may be completely wrong.

Just for completeness, which letter did you write?

The third one about the Kiteway editorial. I was hoping to prod the PMs into revealing a bit more about pro and anti-Cube sentiment in the next Sentinel update.

I wonder if the ascendancy point could be similar to the idea of right ascension which is a coordinate showing the position of an object in the night sky. The zero point of right ascension is in the constellation Aresand is like the Prime Meridian in determining the famous longitude on Earth. (note like longitude this is also a measure of time as well as position.)

Perhaps Perplex City has a massive object-- causing a gravitational effect-- in their nighttime sky that they use to determine positions of other celestial objects.

On another note: I propose moving the future pages to a puzzle thread, we are all pretty sure something is hidden there. Moderators?

I find it so curious that they were able to receive any e-mails generated on Earth at all Confused I mean, it has been an extremely difficult task for Sente to establish "bidirectional communication with Earth", and even that might be a result of him being here. The Sentinel's editor himself refers to Earth as "some place that only Academy researchers can vouch even exists, much less currently communicate with" - yet the Sentinel can receive e-mail from here with a breeze??

Moreover, given this general attitude of disbelief toward's the very existence of Earth, how is it that the Sentinel publishes them like it's no big deal? There is no giant headline "OMG! First direct communication from Earth's people! The Sentinel had it first!!"? There is no public shock, no uproar in the scientific community, no government address? Not even the tiniest mention of contact by alien intelligence?

I think there are two possible explanations that would take care of both of the above: either the Sentinel we are able to read has certain sections that vary depending on the location (which happens in a lot of newspapers, although, I think, mostly with advertisement-type-things), OR the Sentinel staff doesn't know that the e-mails were written by Earth residents (which begs the question of "who would take the care of forwarding these e-mails to Perplex City and of making sure that they look like they were generated in that world?"). Hm, not that I know what that means in the larger scheme of things, but it's just something that's been bugging me.

There was a puzzle called "Mysterious Stranger" about an actual treasure hunt that was comprised mostly of a twisty word game, taking cues from words and phrases to eliminate and rearrange letters to spell out the solution.

Read more about the solution here.

Basically, whole sentences and phrases were cleverly worded to whittle down the text until a final, clear sentence emerged. The Futures contains similar wording and phrasing:

"roll" [REARRANGE]
"shuffle" [REARRANGE]
"loses" [REMOVE]
"take out" [REMOVE]

...etc. Give the solution link above a read over, it's a possibility.

Going back to clues in Futures. How about this?

Quote:
The Wave (May 11 - June 10)
Shuffle your way to heaven at your weekly card game. Bet big. Triangles are go.

It made me think of poker. Googling 'poker triangle' linked to Pascal's Triangle. 'Bet big', then, could be referring to Pascal's Wager in which he decided it was better to believe in God than not purely on a probability basis:

It's nice, but I think the "rolls" needs to go directly after the "cucumber", because the "LL" lines up with the "00" that way.
