[NEW] stolena3.com Stolen A3 is a blog written by a fellow observer, who's playing along with us. There's a very good recap of what happened so new players can easily join in.
There is also a post talking about the ARG and Audi sponsorship, and a discussion area, confirming that this site is Out of Game.. but sort of related to the game.. so it's PIG? Nevermind..

I've signed up, but I'm sceptical as to whether the site is in/out of game. It doesn't seem to be part of the game as such, but I dunno, the story so far is a little too 'perfect'. Read it, see what you think. If this guy 'Todd' wants to join in formally, it seems that we'd be better off using uf for it, so maybe he could use this? I don't want to make his hard efforts redundant, but posting to 2 forums, well it's inconvenient. We'll see how it pans out.

Hmm... I think you're right. It's a little too perfect, especially the video of Ian and Will showing up. He just happened to be filming at the right time... sure.
My guess is that this site was set up by the PMs as a resource for all of the people who find out about the game but don't know anything about ARGs or forums like ours. Not necessarily a bad thing.
Edit:
Of course, he might just be a guy with great timing - who knows? We'll have to see how he responds to your post on his forum, Maxim.

I'm taking this site in as a "Story So Far" kind of site. The IG/OOG separation that so many of us are used to seeing has definitely been smudged at this point, so maybe it's time to stop trying to make the distinction between their Reality and our Reality, before we all go insane*.
*(Those of us that aren't already, that is.)

It's quite plausible that Audi sent out invitations to the party as a way into the game, however there are certain discrepancies on the stolena3.com site that don't quite match up with what we know:
When Todd went to the NY Autoshow on 2nd April he noticed an empty space at the Audi display, however, we know from this thread that Audi had put signs up the day before. Would Audi have taken the signs down?
I also think it's a bit too much of a coincidence that Todd was filming at the time that Ian and Will turned up at the showroom. (AngelAnger - can you shed any light on this as you were there?)
However, I think his website is great and it's quite possible that he's an Audi enthusiast with a genuine interest in all of this. If he can help out then I guess it doesn't really matter whether he's OOG or not

well rose went to the auto show and she said the same thing, that the signs weren't there, right?
And here's something to chew on.....is the guy I shot in my pictures, Todd? That guy in the background.
If so OMG I JUST MISSED THE SHOW! heheh, Im guessing everything went down right after I left the scene to go get dinner.

no signs There were no signs about the car being stolen or anything else at the Auto Show on Saturday. Just a big empty space. I have a picture that I will try to post tomorrow.
If I had to guess why the sign was taken down there are a couple of ideas:
1. leaving the sign up for April Fools Day is explainable, the next day it starts to look odd.
2. the Javitz Center was packed with people, I don't think Audi was in any position to try to make in-game explanations about the car theft. The Javitz Center Security might not have wanted a few thousand people thinking that the car was really stolen.(they have a pretty bad reputation as it is.)
3. they were not using the Javitz Center as the launching off point of the game. The only connection was that the car was taken from there to the dealer from where it was stolen.
3. Would someone report

Well, the domain was registered on March 17th, while the first ARGN report was posted on March 29th - so it looks as if this is an Audi-run OOG site.

Check out his first post (emphasis mine):

What's all this, then?
Congratulations! You've discovered a fun, interactive, fictional story sponsored by Audi. This campaign is similar to what's known as "Alternate Reality Gaming," in which a community of users become a part of the story, interact with its characters, and help each other unravel its mysteries along the way. If you'd like to immerse yourself in this entertaining, challenging experience, visit the discussion forum and join in the fun! (And don't worry, nobody will call you at 3:00 a.m. -- it's not that immersive. )

Obviously, he couldn't know this unless he were in on it.

Also, this is the only place on the entire site that Todd refers directly to Alternate Reality Gaming. He doesn't even link to Unfiction, Virgil, or Last Resort on his sidebar (although he does link to Last Resort in his April 4 post, after the jump).

Todd just posted a security cam video with a note that he
"Had lunch with a business associate yesterday and mentioned what happened at the Audi Forum last Friday night. He was instantly hooked. He did a little digging himself, and through a friend of his in law enforcement, was able to get a copy of security cam footage from the break in."

I believe that Nisha even made a comment about this site in her newest e-mail to Marla... so reality/ARG bonderies for me are completely dissolved beyond recognition... man this game gets funner ( ) by the second!

They just updated the site with a complex timeline of what's happened so far, I suggest everyone newcomers or otherwise look at this one.

I agree, maybe this should be linked to as the primer.

We already have a Quick Start Guide . I have updated it with a link to the summary at stolena3.com, so now we have everything documented up to the end of week 1. Nobody has an excuse for not joining the game now.
