She mentions football i guess not all there games are puzzles and intellectual persuits. In Britian does football refer to US style "football" or "Soccer"?

I assume it's American Football. When we say football in the UK we mean what Americans call Soccer and a name like the Perplex City Raiders is similar to American Football team names and nothing like any Soccer team.

Yes, I get a "404 - Document Not Found" message. I can't get any of the feeds to work with Firefox Live Bookmarks either - anyone have any joy with these?

I use the Sage extension in Firefox for RSS feeds and have no problems.

Thanks thunderclap8 - tried sage but get the same results ie. "Live Bookmark feed failed to load."
I'll "go figure" - don't want to divert the thread anymore than I have done, just wondered if it was a general problem

I disdain the use of anagrams. it rarely (never!) goes anywhere useful. that said, i was amused to discover MARMALEJO is an anagram of LAME MAJOR.

Ok guys, not sure if this is a clue or me being clueless.
The advert from the times that Scarlett references has a quote from Adrian:-
"It's a new kind of entertainment that's only become possible with today's level of internet and mobile phone penetration," Hon says. "That lets you tell a different type of story that ultimately involves hundreds of thousands of people." Alternate reality gaming, he reflects, "is currently where cinema was in 1903. And in Britain especially, we're about to see it take off."
Note the 1903 quote. A search later and...
http://www.terramedia.co.uk/Chronomedia/years/1903.htm
In may of that year a film was made of Alice in Wonderland. And some other bits and bobs. Am at work so have no further time to research. This may be treading tired worn paths about Alice due to the age of the original quote or something new due to Scarlett's blog.
Any chances or me being right about something for once?

Interesting quote there, I had forgotten that one. Wow, really makes you think... we could be at the start of something really quite amazing here! That said, as an art form, maybe we are at an early 20th Century level, but business-wise, I'm not sure it's much more than a promotional tool. Even so, it would be so amazing to see immersive gaming take off, it really would.
As far as alice connections, I am sure it is something to keep an eye one. The alice thing is a sort of archetypal link (matrix, rabbit hole, etc) so it could be that it is simply following those traditions, rather than using it as a reference. I mean, it wouldn't exactly be very original, would it?

first off, rawr. red hair, freckles... but she needs a sammich. mass kudos to the artist they have working for them. the guy is good. now, the tower is 1.3 km tall. thats more than twice as tall as the current tallest building in the world currently, the tapei tower, which is about 500 meters high. now, if the skyline is to scale, and the tower is measured from where its a tower and not a squat building, then its 312 meters (years, roughly, or 940 feet) across at the base. yowza, thats big. so we can definetly say that they have better construction than us.

I think the Scarlett post from last week pointed us to the Iona Rodie article to drive home the point that the PMs need us to cool our jets for a bit. Afterall, she claims Iona is a friend of hers at the Sentinel so this leads me to believe we should "trust" her reporting... Thus "Sente Kiteway's Cube retrieval effort is being delayed further weeks" means just that. The updates are to keep us chomping at the bit, not to direct us back to something we have missed!
If the puzzles were so hidden that we collectively couldn't find them then the problem would be with the PMs, not us. Once this really kicks off I'm thinking obfuscation will be a reality, but not for all of us!

From the new futures: "Patience Kids". I think that says it all.

I was wondering if anyone had spotted this picture:
http://www.thescarlettkite.com/assets/images/col_base_bg.gif
and how it is used in the site. I can't see that it actually appears on the page, being overwritten by other borders (I presume, my css knowledge isn't as good as it should be) and the rather peculiar pattern of pixels piqued my interest.
