Ok guys. I'm new and this is a long post, but *stick with me*.
Read the article in the Guardian yesterday and was s.n.a.r.e.d.
Plunged head long into the world of Perplex City.
Anyway, spent most of yesterday evening/ early this morning (!) getting as up to speed best I could. The intro guide pulled things together a great deal.

To the point. One of the first things I looked at was the postcard with the five pictures on it (skyline, £50 note, address, etc.). Idly, I searched for the address on the Lady Google - One Taverson Square. Check this yourself, but to my surprise the second search result was this...

http://herosquest.blogspot.com/2005/02/one-taverson-square.html

Now, the sharper eyed amongst you would have seen that the original address on the postcard is in fact One TaversEn Square, and like me, realized it was my own typo that turned this up. However....

Have a good look at that sight, and then tell me I'm not on to something.
A few points to consider:

1. One of the blogger's favorite books is Pattern Recognition. Remember that from somewhere? It was one of the ISBN numbers on the post-it note. (Pre-game Project Syzygy)

2. Just read that text; its all about quests, searches, heroes, unknown things. This is probably the most compellingly part:

"But be wary that you are not a pawn in some clever rouse, following bread crumbs left so deliberately with the intent only to ensnare the unsuspecting curious searcher."

We are very much in Alice/ Matrix territory. (note reference to rabbit in "1987")

3. The large number at the bottom of the entry; a cipher?

5448454355424549534e4f5448455245

4. I can see lines of illegible text in the green banner

5. One of the subjects on the site is "Spammer wanted". Read it yourself here:

http://herosquest.blogspot.com/2004/12/wanted-spammer.html

It includes what could be a cypher:

"Elmo and I took defined by cream puff (with pork chop behind paper napkin, burglar near.Where we can ostensibly can be kind to our particle accelerator. When sandwich about is tattered, traffic light near grizzly bear befriend defined by cab driver.Elmo, although somewhat soothed by cough syrup over CEO and reactor behind class action suit."

6. The blogger refers us to a site:

http://www.20q.net/

….which is basically an artificial intelligence programme that claims to be able to guess what you're thinking.

Ok, that's all fact, near enough.

The next bit is less certain, but still compelling….

7. The Futures section of the Sentinel describes a series of simple objects and concepts, most (but not all) can be guessed by the AI on 20q. I was thinking that half-filled jug, for example, may mean optimism or something similar. Perhaps there is a connection.

8. You can buy a toy of 20 questions, which is basically the same thing as the site but in a small ball. It claims to have millions of 'synapses' which enable it to almost always guess correctly under 20 questions.

9. The toy is sold by Firebox.com

10. Firebox.com was co-founded by Michael Smith, mentioned in the Guardian article and on theScarlettKite.com

11. The toy is called Radica. We are looking for the Receda Cube.

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I appreciate this game does its level best to make you suspect everything (family, pets, shoes), but try to consider these points with an open mind. I've looked at it too much to tell you myself, whether it's game or not game.

I await your thoughts.

Actually, I'm not so sure now. I don't know if Sente is the Sente, or some moonlighter. Perhaps some of you more experienced AGRers give it the once over.
I'll quiten down for a bit.

if you look at the url that sente in that post points to you'll see it's vibration13's web page. if you then search on these forums for posts by vibration13 you'll find he is just one of us.

The binary on that page translates to:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You are looking for the cube. Thank you. But you are looking down the wrong rabbithole.

It also looks a lot like the colony game that's just locked a lot of us out.

It seemed really in game at first but now it reminds me of the peplexcity.com that was made to direct people around the typo before. Just sort of an out of game thing to distract us. Speaking of distractions tho, that 20q.net thing is fun as hell!

I split this off from Scarlett's blog thread.

Fwiw, I think that this is, very clearly, OOG Smile
