 		[PUZZLE - SOLVED] Tiles
This is the puzzle from http://www.simonsumeria.info/idea.php?keyword=accoutrements

The letters in the big block at the bottom:

If you take a ROT-22 you get:

Notice that the first line starts to spell out "ancient" (with the t on the 2nd line). Unfortunately, I can't get anything from there. But it is 4am, so maybe someone else will have better luck tomorrow.

 		I'll keep Rowan's ROT letters, because using the same ROT offset on the title "MHIE" gives the word IDEA.

This isn't a full solution yet, but I'll spoilerize it because I believe it solves the first step.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The four groups of tiles at the top are the examples, which show what is to be done with the main grid. You can join the blue set with one of the all-white sets, and you can join the red set with the other all-white set, and you get a square grid of tiles. Each half set is rotationally symmetric with its complement, and all colored tiles are in only one half. Thus, step one is to divide the 6x6 grid into two equal halves, rotationally identical but with all of the green squares being in only one half.


The attached image shows the results of this first step, with the letters replaced as well.

For anyone else who hasn't been following along: This game loves ROTs. Most of the hints and in-jokes are left as ROTed comments. You can tell who left them by which ROT is used.

ROT-18 (or as he sees it ROT-8) is vis. vis is generally a good guy. Little odd, likes to joke. Loves to mock me. But he's on our side and is trying to help us.

ROT-22 is Simon. Simon is the hacker who has taken over daemonworks and who owns simonsumiera. Not a nice guy. Has forced at least David (David Bickerstaff aka InvaderDIB) to "strike a deal with darkness". We're still trying to figure out what he wants.

ROT-13 is His number. I don't think we were ever given a name as to who He is. Seems bad though. We've only had a handful of messages from him. And for some reason, they've also been reversed.

So the reason the ROT-22 shows up on the idea page is because Simon is using it to communicate with us (probably also the reason the story on the other page is a little spooky). Also, all the pages on simonsumiera so far have their titles ROT'd to match the page name. Idea = MHIE, Energy = IRIVKC, Will = AMPP.

The source code says "always check the other facets" Any clue what this means? Facets of a cube?

 		UPDATE! The V in the left hand side has been filled in with green in an obvious way. Wonder if there was a mistake in the puzzle?

I'm pretty sure that means check the energy and will pages - the other facets of the simonsumeria site. It's common for vis to tell us to check similar pages for an update.

 		well, well, that new green square changes everything. Same explanation as my spoiler above, but with a different solution gif attached below.

The gray squares create an identical shape to the highlighted ones. Taking the squares in order, it spells ANCIENT TITAN PRISON, which leads to the answer TARTARUS.

That was definitely smooth. Jill sighed dreamily.

I'm watching the oscars, so I haven't decoded this yet. But Vl is a new glyph.


One more thing to think about for the Wolf/Eagle empire:

Doesn't work as a keyword that I saw, but it might be a starting point.

Some interesting things with the new glyphs:

is similar to the old

which worked out to 1 * 2 = 2.

Still not sure what the Vl glyphs mean though. Maybe they indicate True/False?

About that extra comment - it's just weird. Ta223, Ta224, Ta657 and Gn924 are all new (plus that Vl397). It shouldn't be an equation - Ta's are symbols, not numbers. And I have no idea what Gn would be. I wonder if it could spell out a word somehow by taking the first letter of what each thing is supposed to be (F for False/Vl397): ? ? F ? ? ? I know, I'm stretching.

It's an update page. It means the site was last updated on Feb 28th at 5:14 am PST

Edit: I'm an idiot. cather got it correct. Should be Feb 28th at 2:28pm pst
