[UPDATE] April 5th Don't you just love starting off the day with a game update?
Nisha wrote back to Virgil blowing off his request to talk about the game because she has bigger problems to deal with. Virgil, in his neverending quest to win over Nisha, responds so eloquently that it's okay.
He's beginning to give me the creeps.

I dont know if this is an update or just an error, but there's something slightly strange going on in Nisha's inbox.
There is an email dated 04/05/05 with the subject china in her inbox now. However, this email is exactly the same (linked to the same url - 0040.html) as an email that appeared 09/25/04 for Travel Bookings International. We think this might actually be a mistake. Ehsan notes that the 'china' email in Ian's mailbox is also 0040.html. It could be that Cybergosse bcc'd Nisha the email he sent Ian, and that there was a slight error in writing the URL when the email showed up in Nisha's box. Or it could be the 'china' email was inadvertently copied to Nishas inbox when it was put in Ian's. We'll keep an eye on this to see if the situation resolves.

Another change from yesterday, Nisha's Inbox listed 48, but now lists 68 entries.

Okay, it seems the issues with Nisha's inbox have been cleared up. The 'china' email is gone and the Inbox correctly lists 50 emails.
Damn software glitches. First it allows access to the accounts without a password and then it makes the inboxes all wonky (not that i'm complaining about the account access)

I've transcribed what I can from the phone conversation (although this is probably the wrong thread to put it in)
Quote:
Nisha: nice of you to take my calls.
Ian: Hey look I'm not avoiding you, I'm busy - still trying to figure this out
Nisha: This (mysterious) information?
Ian: Yeah, Gunter put this sucker in deep (inaudible secion) ...recording in the bluetooth files, I'm not quite sure yet
Nisha: Have you taken it out?
Ian: no, no, he locked his files, some kind of ... programming (next bit is inaudible)
Nisha: Well come back and get it
Ian: (laughs) No, no, not quite yet. I'm going to pull this file so you can see I'm not crazy, then you won't be so quick to turn me in.
Nisha: I'm not turning you in, I got hired to find you
Ian: Nisha, are you serious? (Nisha then talks over him) Listen to what you're saying
Nisha: Well it's better than them pressing charges (car horn in background). Come home Ian, let's get this ... back to normal
Ian: No! (next part is inaudible) ...going to do things by myself for once
Nisha: Where are you?
Ian: Don't worry about it (next bit inaudible)
Nisha: Where?
Ian: (says something but cuts off) Hey, I'll call you when I get this out of the harddrive ok?
Nisha: Ian, where -
Ian: Bye Baby
Have a listen, see if you can make anything else out

Good job!
I think I heard a few more words. Maybe someone can improve it some more.
Nisha: nice of you to take my call.
Ian: Hey look I'm not avoiding you, I'm busy - just tryin' to, still trying to figure this out
Nisha: This mysterious information?
Ian: Yeah, Gunter put this sucker in deep where ya know [inaudible] ...recording in the bluetooth files, I'm not quite sure yet
Nisha: And you can't get it out?
Ian: Yeah, no, he locked his files, some kind of (keystroke program?) [ inaudible] I get home.
Nisha: Well come back and get it
Ian: (laughs) No, no, I'm not quite yet. I'm going to pull this file. I'm gonna show you I'm not crazy, then you won't be so quick to turn me in.
Nisha: I'm not turning you in, I got hired to find you
Ian: Nisha, are you serious?
Nisha: Well it's...
Ian: Listen to what you're saying
Nisha: Well it's better than them pressing charges against you (car horn in background). Come home Ian, let's get this fixed and get back to normal.
Ian: No! No, I'm not comin' home! I wanna show you I can do things by myself for once
Nisha: Where are you?
Ian: Don't worry about it. I'm someplace safe.
Nisha: Where?
Ian: I'm with friends (or Fred?). Hey, I'll call you, I'll call you when I get this out of the harddrive ok?
Nisha: Ian, where -
Ian: Bye Baby

The more I listened to the above, the more convinced I became that Ian said he's with Fred.
There's a folder on Iannet called Fred which has a phone message from Fred Snowden (who wants LRR's help to find a missing scroll). Fred even leaves his number: 404-393-9666. That could put Ian in Atlanta if he's with Fred at Fred's house.
Any players in Atlanta?

I agree - it does sound like Fred, but why would Ian tell Nisha that? Surely she could track him down easily if the two of them are together?

Hello Nisha
I understand you are looking for a missing friend of yours. I can let you know where he is and what his intentions are, but I'd like an exchange of information.
Please get in touch if you're interested.
Best regards
M
I mainly had information about Virgil Tatum in mind when I sent this email (as she knows him well) - perhaps she can give us some clues about the Unfinished game? Can anyone think of other info we could use?

In Nisha's latest email she says:
Quote:
He's hiding out with his old college friend Freddy in Conn. I think.
Least that what I think he said. I'm going up there in an hour
in this brand spanking new car they gave me.
So I did hear "Fred". The only Fred I knew about was the client Fred, so I assumed that's who Ian was with. Hopefully we'll soon get a report from Nisha and find out. Since she's taking the car with the tracking device in it, she'd lead Audi right to him...so I hope he is with the Atlanta Fred, or it could be "game over"!

Though, I now know why Nisha didn't want him going after the violin. He's smart enough not to tell her where he is, but then he tells her who he's with? Silly boy. I'd tell him not to quit his day job but I dont think he is burdened with one anymore.
Actually, I'm kinda hoping he meant the CT Fred in the convo. I really can't imagine the conversation he'd have with GA Fred (that and I dont want to eat the other half of my hat).
"Hi Fred. This is Ian from LRR. I need to see you."
"Sure. Is this about my scroll?"
"Not exactly. See, I stole this car from a chop shop, and now Audi and my stolen art bounty hunter girlfriend are after me and I need a place to stay while I figure stuff out. So whaddya say?"
At least he's kinda cute

Geez, I just might have to eat the rest of that hat yet...
Anyway, new phone call at Nisha's (cuz Ian has his calls going to her). It's Fred. Nisha arrived in CT and well, Ian isn't there. Now Fred is ticked that he got roped into this.

Hmm, it seems Ian is a tad bit smarter than I gave him credit for.
He sent Nisha all the way up CT, while he's still hanging out in Union City . He had another IRC session with CyberGosse. It seems that CG found out that German Blue(tooth) uses a different frequency than American Bluetooth - which explains why Ian can't communicate with it. He's sent Ian a German handshake program to use. Ian will write him back if he gets anything.

Also posted on the 5th, though it doesn't seem to have much to do with current events:
Plane ticket to Barcelona
The ticket is for Feb. 4th, though, and the heading is "air - personal - 2004", so it was for 2/4/04. I'm not finding many records of what was going on then; most of the history on the site stops around June of '04. I suppose, since it's labeled "personal", that it could just be a pleasure trip... but why post it now?
