[Question] Printing clues and info.

Has there ever been a situation where you have to print something to use it as part of a clue.
Eg; If you contol+A on http://www.thescarlettkite.com/ it highlights five, of what looks to be spaces. I know this is a standard part of page design, but a good designer could make a page which included them as a code. You have to print it out, marking these higlighted spaces, cut them out, and overlay it on another document to see the relevant letters.

On the original www.perplexcity.com site, get to indexB and then click on the blanked out word in the distorted image of the letter on the bottom right. You get to a quote from Msr Marchant. Print or print preview.

Tada!

Try searching for spacer.gif

Can't see anything as obvious as that in the case of the blog though. What were you thinking?

Nothing in specific. I was just remembering the more traditional ways of hiding something that could come back now that most things get done on computers. Overlaying a bit of paper with holes(as a key) onto another with text, used to be a fairly simple method. Now though with the internet and screens, this may not occur to people.
