EMAIL WES EotW: re Digitalis (was: bumber stickers)

I sent this the other day -- still haven't heard anything from the guy. Hoping to at least find out more about what's happening at Aglaura.

"I love this kind of stuff!! I'd love to be on your list!

BTW -- I had talked to another guy from Aglaura (funny -- never had heard of the place before, now I know two people from there!) -- he was a Web designer, and was going to give me a quote on a site I was setting up. Haven't heard from him in a little while -- name was Dale or Dave, his last name began with an S (I am bad with names, especially with people I just met. Talked to him once at a convention, and once on the phone.). I know that Aglaura is a smallish town, so I was hoping you could maybe give me another way of getting in touch with him, other than his office email (which he doesn't seem to be answering right now - least not mine).

Sorry for the weird request -- maybe it's something for your site!!

Thanks!!!

I got a reply -- not much information. Haven't been to the site yet -- I'm headed there as soon as I post this:

Warren:
Yeah, yeah I know I'm just a little slow in getting back to you but I decided
it made more sense to wait until the bumper stickers were back in stock before
answering requests for them. Why send more than one e-mail if I don't have to?
Anyway, I don't know if you've seen the new message on my page. The bumper
stickers are here so I've given my helpers the green light to start sending
them out.
I also added you to the mailing list.

Well, Wes finally got around to getting back to me in reguards to my
email (It's been AWHILE). He claims to be a friend of Dale's and speaks a
bit about their relationship. It also sounds like he has no clue about
Digitalis. I already mentioned that he was a person, but Wes seems to
have confused that.. or maybe this is another form email. He also
mentions another friend of Dale's. Is this an in-game character or could he be referring to one of us? Plus he claims the sticker's glyphs have a
very specific purpose.. but won't say what. Specs?? Any ideas for a
followup??

Kim -
It took a while to get back to you because I've been busy finishing up
the March newsletter and trying to deal with the huge increase of vistors
and questions here lately. You've raised a bunch of questions that I'm not
really sure how to answer at this point but I'll give it a shot.

The bumper sticker you'll get in the mail (if you make the cut-off
before we run out again) is only one design and does not have any of the markings on the bottom that you've commented on. Those were added to the website pic of the bumper sticker only, for a very specific purpose. So far it seems to be working but i can't really tell you anymore right now. Sorry for being cryptic but I have my reasons and, hey, it's kind of in my nature. It seems like Dale suddenly has a lot of old friends, popping up and asking questions or offering to help. Dale is a friend of mine, and although he was a bit of a skeptic when it comes to the things I investigate and believe in, he was always very open-minded and willing to discuss just about anything, no matter how weird or strange. He never mentioned to me the person or the place you mentioned though, but others certainly have brought up the word "digitalis" since all this happened to Dale. I know Sam, the webmaster for the Aglaura
website and another friend of Dale's, was trying to see if he could
find out what it meant. Have you e-mailed him about it possibly being the name of a person? Six-fingers, you say? Now that would be really weird, and I honestly would be surprised that I never met him or heard of him if he's from around here.

Well I've got things to do. I promised some people I'd try and get a
better picture online of that disc I found in the Pine Barrens. I had someone offer to buy it off me already today who was pretty upset when I wouldn't sell it to him. If I get a picture up maybe somebody out there can help me figure out what the damn thing is.

Here's my email to him:

> Dear Wes,

I'm sorry for bothering you with a second email, since I am sure you
are quite busy. I'm glad to see you have bumper stickers back in
stock, and I have a small question about them (on top of wanting one
myself!).
Browsing your website over the last few days, I've noticed that the
sticker's image has changed 3 times. Not the whole picture mind you,
but the small alien glyphs at the bottom. Are there actually 3
different bumper stickers available?

But actually, I'm very interested in the writing. You see, not only
do I like the paranormal, but I love cryptograms and for the hell of it I
tried to see if the alien writing said something. Well, I just want to
know if I'm crazy, cause I'm sure you've made a complete alien
alphabet here and the stickers say stuff. But they say weird things:

"strange things are happening no one else believes" (OK I understand
this... I mean, you're in New Jersey!) "strange people hanging around lately asking questions" (Strange? I'm sure your regular cliental may be a bit eccentric, but this sounds a tad worrisome) "drawing too much attention the green man can help" (????)

It seems like your messages are getting stranger and more urgent. Who
are these strange people? Drawing attention to what?? The green man?
Do you mean like the legend? The only other Green I know in town is Sam Greene . He is a friendly, helpful guy I must admit, but he seems a
little frazzled lately. It's understandable. Our friend Dale has just
had some of the strangest things happen to him lately, on top of
losing his family. Do you know Dale? I'm sure you have met. Dale had
started expressing an interest in magic and other strange paranormal
things last time we talked, so maybe he visited your store. This was
after he visited an amusement park near you called Ash Grove Park.
Cool place. If you ever get the chance to visit, I'd recommend getting your fortune told by Digitalis while you are there. He's the 6 fingered
fortune teller at the midway. Maybe you know him. I mean, he is
another Jersey oddity and so secretive!

Well about the writing, maybe I'm just getting anxious over nothing
and you just like making freaky messages to entertain your customers. I do enjoy them... please don't stop! I just can't shake the feeling they
mean something or that you may be in trouble. Maybe I'm just all
worked up about this stuff with poor Dale. Well, sorry for being a bother.

Wes replies about Digitalis/AGP

From "sinyx" @collectivedetective
Subject: Contact: More email from Wes

Pretty close to the same emails others have recieved, with just a small
personal answer to my questions about the voodoo mask and
Digitalis/AGP...

Kim:
Wow, quite a lot of stuff in your e-mail. I'm not sure if I have time to respond to everything but I'll try to fill you in where I can.

You know, both Sam and I have been going crazy with worry since the
fire at Dale's house. And even though the town's bureaucracy has officially clammed up tight since Thursday night, Sam did manage to find out that they haven't found any bodies in Dale's house, or what's left of it. So that much at least is good news.

The voodoo mask is a bit of an enigma that I haven't gotten around to
fully unraveling yet. With all the other things going on around here lately I just haven't had time to fllow-up on the research etc I wanted to do. Once I do get around to it, I'll fill you in.

You are about the 200th person to mention Ash Grove Park and this "Digitalis" to me now. Of course, just about everyone around here knows about Dale and the Ash Grove Park story. I can tell you that, as far as I have been able to tell, there never was an amusement park of any sort on that spot. I do find it a little weird that a cemetery so close to here with somewhat of a unique reputation has simply faded away from the local radar screen but that's one of the real mysteries in history - figuring out why certain things are remembered and passed on and others relegated to the realm of forgotten mythology. I'm not sure what to do with the "Digitalis" name now that there is no park there for a fortune teller to work from.
